Results from Sunday will seed teams into various brackets for Monday’s final day of competition. Here are updates from the U15-U18 Open divisions regarding Minnesota-based teams.
18 Open
Northern Lights 18-1 ended the day at 3-0 going relatively untested to begin their tournament. However, the competition gets tougher on Sunday as undefeated Premier Nebraska 18 Gold (3-0) awaits. MN North 18-1 sits at 2-2 with two pool play matches remaining on Sunday. Six teams will advance to Monday’s Gold bracket championship playoff. Northern Lights 18-2 played just two matches and were victorious with two 2-0 wins. They move into Sunday with four pool play matches remaining on their schedule.
17 Open
All three Minnesota teams are in the positive following day one results. Northern Lights 17-1 and Northern Lights 17-2 are both 3-0, while MN North 17-1 Navy are 2-1 and in the hunt to claim a spot in Monday’s Gold bracket playoff. Only four teams, the top two teams from each pool, will advance to compete for the event championship.
16 Open
Northern Lights 16-1 is 3-0 entering into Sunday’s matches. Their toughest match was against Topeka Impact 16-1 in which they needed and extra set to claim the win. The top two teams from each pool advance to Monday’s Gold playoff as others will be seeded into consolation brackets.
15 Open
Northern Lights 15-1 completed a 3-0 opening day Saturday with three 2-0 victories. They move into Sunday prepared to battle as two other teams, Dynasty 14 Black and Nebraska Elite 15 Revolution each carry forward a 3-0 record as well. Four teams will advance to Monday’s Gold bracket championship.
