<p>The North Country Region hosted one of the area's largest club volleyball events of the season over President's Day weekend. With six divisions offered for U15 and U16 teams, the two-day event some exciting competition throughout the greater Twin Cities area. The following is a recap of results for all U15 and U16 divisions.</p> <p><strong>16 Gold</strong></p> <p><strong>Kokoro 16-1</strong> dropped only one set throughout the weekend on their way to a 9-0 overall record and the tournament title. Their toughest matches came in the latter rounds of the Gold bracket as they needed three sets to defeat <strong>Vital 6-1 Gold</strong> in the semifinals, and then another great effort to get past <strong>KEVC 16-1</strong> (26-24, 25-19) in the championship match to hand them their only loss of the tournament. Other teams advancing to the Gold bracket include <strong>NVA 16 Black</strong>, <strong>Hammerhead 16-1</strong>, <strong>Crossfire 16-1</strong>, <strong>Rapid Spikers 16 Black</strong>, and <strong>Ohana 16U National</strong>, all of which tied for fifth place overall. Vital and KEVC tied for third. With 27 teams competing in this division, the following represents the winners of each playoff bracket:</p> <ul> <li>Gold = Kokoro 16-1</li> <li>Silver = Kokoro 16-2</li> <li>Bronze = M1 16Blue</li> <li>Flight 1 = Shock 15-1</li> <li>Flight 2 = Cobras 16-1</li> <li>Flight 3 = Ohana 16U Regional</li> </ul> <p><strong>16 Silver </strong></p> <p>The Gold bracket playoff featured four teams competing for the championship. It was <strong>ClubRed 16 Red</strong> that defeated <strong>MN Select 16 Black</strong> in a three-set battle to complete the perfect weekend at 8-0 and the title in hand. ClubRed defeated <strong>MN Select 16 White</strong> to get to the finals, while Select defeated <strong>Sauk Rapids 16-1</strong> to advance. MN Select 16 White and Sauk Rapids 16-1 finished tied for third overall. <strong>M1 161</strong> claimed the Silver bracket playoff with a 2-0 win over <strong>Club Krush 16-1</strong>, as <strong>Club Velocity 16-1</strong> took the Bronze bracket. A total of 64 teams competed in 16 Silver making it the largest division along with 15 Silver Upper. The following teams won their respective playoff brackets:</p> <ul> <li>Gold = ClubRed 16 Red</li> <li>Silver = M1 161</li> <li>Bronze = Club Velocity 16-1</li> <li>Consolation = M1 16 Black</li> <li>Flight 1 = Link 16</li> <li>Flight 2 = Stewie 16 Blue</li> <li>Flight 3 = Club Tonka 16-1</li> <li>Flight 4 = Woodbury 16-1</li> <li>Flight 5 = Hammerhead 16-2</li> <li>Flight 6 = Eastview 16-1</li> <li>Flight 7 = CV Diggers 16-1</li> <li>Flight 8 = Club Tonka 16-2</li> <li>Flight 9A = Northern Impact 16-1</li> <li>Flight 9B = Eau Claire Slam 16-2</li> <li>Flight 10A = CLHOUND 16-1</li> <li>Flight 10B = Crusader 16</li> </ul> <p><strong>16 Bronze </strong></p> <p><strong>Stewie 14 Blue</strong>, playing up and outside of their age group, was perfect on the weekend with a 7-0 overall record and without a dropping a set. They defeated <strong>Blue Team 16</strong> in the Gold playoff finals, following their semifinal win over <strong>CVC 16-1</strong>. The following represents the playoff winners among the 23 total teams that competed:</p> <ul> <li>Gold = Stewie 14 Blue</li> <li>Silver = Impact 16-2</li> <li>Consolation = Southside Juniors 16-1</li> <li>Flight 1 = Hammerhead 16 Black</li> <li>Flight 2 = ClubRedWI 16 Black</li> </ul> <p><strong>15 Gold</strong></p> <p><strong>Kokoro 15-1</strong> claimed the championship in 15 Gold giving their club another title on the weekend. The defeated<strong> KEVC 15-1</strong>, <strong>Crossfire 15-1</strong>, and <strong>MVA 15 Elite</strong> in the Gold bracket playoff to grab the title. Additional teams advancing to the Gold bracket include Summit 15 Elite, Kokoro 15-2, STMA 15-1 Blue, and MN Select 15-3, all of which finished tied for fifth place overall. A total of 32 teams competed in 15 Gold. The following represents playoff bracket winners:</p> <ul> <li>Gold = Kokoro 15-1</li> <li>Silver = Dynamo Red 15-1</li> <li>Bronze = Vital 15-1 Gold</li> <li>Flight 1 = MN Premier 15-1</li> <li>Flight 2 = Prior Lake Extreme 15-1</li> <li>Flight 3 = ERAA 15-1</li> <li>Flight 4 = Club Tonka 15-2</li> </ul> <p><strong>15 Silver Upper</strong></p> <p>Also featuring 64 teams, 15 Silver Upper was the largest division on the weekend. Flight 15U emerged as the winner with a perfect 8-0 record without dropping a set. They defeated <strong>M1 15Blue</strong> in the championship as M1 was the highest placing Minnesota-based team. Gold bracket participating teams included <strong>Hus-kee VC 15-1</strong> and <strong>RRIV 15 Royal</strong>, both finishing in a tie for third overall. The following teams were winners of their respective playoff brackets:</p> <ul> <li>Gold = Flight 15U</li> <li>Silver = MN Select 15 Black</li> <li>Bronze = OYVBA 15 Blue</li> <li>Consolation = Ohana 14U Regional</li> <li>Flight 1 = Inferno 15-1</li> <li>Flight 2 = V-Hawk Xtreme 15-Silver</li> <li>Flight 3 = Rosemount Irish Elite 151</li> <li>Flight 4 = Link 15 Lime</li> <li>Flight 5 = Woodbury 15-1</li> <li>Flight 6 = Vikings Volleyball 15-Red</li> <li>Flight 7 = CVC 15-1</li> <li>Flight 8 = SOAR 15-1</li> <li>Flight 9A = Vital 15-3 White</li> <li>Flight 9B = EVBA 15 Green</li> <li>Flight 10A = Viking Volleyball 15 Black</li> <li>Flight 10B = Rage 15-2</li> </ul> <p><strong>15 Silver Lower</strong></p> <p>A total of 16 teams comprised the 15 Silver Lower division. <strong>Club Velocity 15-1</strong> finished the tournament with an 8-0 record and the championship. They defeated <strong>Lakes 15-M</strong> in a close finals match, 23-25, 25-17, 15-11. The following teams won their respective playoff bracket:</p> <ul> <li>Gold = Club Velocity 15-1</li> <li>Silver = Fury 15U</li> <li>Flight 1 = Matrix 15 Black</li> <li>Flight 2 = Eastview 15-1</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
