This group of 2029 athletes consistently reflected traits that college coaches quietly value early in the recruiting process, communication, composure, adaptability, leadership, competitiveness, and the ability to stay aggressive when the pace rises.

The UA Next Camp created an environment where these athletes had to process the game faster, compete under pressure, and adjust quickly against elevated competition. For younger players especially, those moments often reveal much more than physical ability alone.

Here are several athletes whose reflections stood out following the UA Next experience.

Taj Davidson knows the game. The Hawaii-based setter discussed pride in running a fast offense, communicating consistently, and creating energy for her team while competing with composure under pressure.

Her development this season expanded far beyond the setter position. After her club team lost multiple players, Davidson stepped into additional roles and learned different positions in order to help her team compete. That experience gave her a broader understanding of the game and helped her become a more versatile and adaptable player.

Davidson repeatedly emphasized composure, communication, and adaptability as major strengths when the game accelerates. She also spoke passionately about representing Hawaii athletes in high-level environments where exposure opportunities can be more limited. Her combination of leadership, volleyball IQ, coachability, and resilience stood out throughout the event reflections.

Brooklyn Lopez is an athlete growing into offensive confidence and leadership responsibility at the same time. She showcased her ability to remain a consistent offensive presence while competing aggressively during high-pressure moments.

What stood out most was her confidence when the game tightened. Lopez explained that this season has helped her become more composed, more aware, and more intentional offensively. Her focus on treating every point the same, regardless of score, reflects an athlete already understanding how emotional steadiness impacts high-level competition. Lopez also emphasized coachability, competitiveness, and her willingness to continue growing outside her comfort zone.

Sloane Banks consistently reflected the mindset of a setter already understanding the importance of tempo, communication, and composure. She discussed trusting her setting decisions during faster sequences while helping keep her offense organized and in system.

What stood out most was her leadership during pressure moments. Banks emphasized being vocal throughout long rallies, helping teammates stay connected, and understanding how quickly momentum can shift in competitive matches. Her ability to combine steady decision-making with communication and energy gives her a very strong developmental ceiling early in the 2029 class.

Olivia Krebs showed a mature understanding of pace, aggression, and confidence throughout her reflections. She explained that when competition sped up, she focused on communicating clearly with her setter, maintaining quick footwork, and staying available offensively on fast tempo attacks.

One of the strongest themes in Krebs' responses was learning how to “play free,” a mindset her coaches have emphasized throughout the season. She spoke about trusting her preparation, competing aggressively, and continuing to enjoy the process while playing at a high level. Krebs also highlighted her continued focus on strength, speed, and development heading into AAUs, Nationals, and summer camps around the country.
