Four of those teams captured their age group and division crown to conclude the three-day affair. Northern Lights 17-1, 16-2, 15-1, and 15-2 all earned first place finishes. The following is a breakdown of the final results from the U15-U18 age groups.
18 Open
After advancing straight to the semifinals of the Gold bracket, both Northern Lights 18-1 and Northern Lights 18-2 were defeated. NL 18-1 lost a heartbreaker with a score of 17-15 in the third set to the event’s eventual champion Nebraska Elite 18 MOAB. NL 18-2 fell in straight sets to CIA 18 Black. Both teams tied for a 3rd place finish overall. MN North 18-1 finished at 3-5 overall and in 10th place.
18 Club
Northern Lights 18 Black was defeated in the semifinals 26-24, 17-25, 15-10 and finished the tournament at 9-1 overall and tied for 3rd place. SMV 18-1 finished in 9th place and at 5-3 overall, while Northern Lights 18 Red earned a 14th place finish with a 3-5 record.
17 Open
Northern Lights 17-1 finished the weekend undefeated with a 9-0 record rounding out the weekend with two wins in the Gold bracket to claim the crown. Their semifinal win came over their Northern Lights 17-2 counterparts, 25-15, 25-13, before taking down VCNebraska 17 Elite in straight sets 25-21, 25-20. NL 17-2 finished tied for 3rd place, as MN North 17-1 Navy finished in 10th place.
17 Club
Final finishes for Minnesota teams include: 5th (tie) – Northern Lights 17 Black and SMV 17-1 Black, 15th – MN North 17-1 White, 17th – Northern Lights 17 Red, 32nd – High Voltage 17-1.
16 Open
Northern Lights 16-1 advanced to the Gold bracket losing in the semifinals 25-16, 26-24 to Nebraska Elite 16 Vici. Their final record was 6-2, finishing tied for 3rd place overall.
16 Club
Northern Lights 16-2 was perfect on the weekend with a 10-0 record and without dropping a single set. They marched through the Gold bracket playoffs winning all four matches and claiming the title with a 25-23, 25-18 victory over Midwest Volleyball Power 16 Blue. Three additional Minnesota teams advanced to the Gold bracket. Final standings for other Minnesota teams include: 9th (tie) – Northern Lights 16 Black, Northern Lights 16 Red, and SMV 16-1, 19th – Northern Lights 16 White, 30th – MN North 16-1 White, and 45th – MN North 16-1 Navy.
15 Open
As the only Minnesota team in this division and with an overall record of 8-1, Northern Lights 15-1 emerged as the 15 Open champion. The Gold bracket playoffs included a 25-13, 25-14 win over Dynasty 15 Black and finals victory over Nebraska Elite 15 Revolution, 25-18, 25-15.
15 Club
Northern Lights 15-2 was the champion of 15 Club with a 10-0 weekend record. Their toughest match was their first round win in the Gold bracket over VCNebraska 15 Black in which they needed a third set to close it out. Their championship match win was a 2-0 victory over Club One 15 Black. Other Minnesota teams finished as follows: 3rd (tie) – Northern Lights 15 Black, 9th (tie) – Northern Lights 15 Red, and 37th (tie) – Northern Lights 15 White.
