15 Gold
Summit 15-Elite will enter Round 2 as the top team still in contention for the Gold bracket title. They finished their first day with a 3-0 record, all through 2-0 victories. Other top pool seeds heading into Round 2 as part of Group 1 are Crossfire MN 15-1, Kokoro 15-1, and KEVC 15-1. The top two teams from the four Group 1 pools after Sunday morning’s action will compete in the afternoon eight-team Gold championship bracket.
16 Gold
In dominating fashion, Kokoro 16-1 won all three of their matches with 2-0 set scores. They advance to Round 2 as Group 1’s top team. Also advancing atop their Group 1 pools are KEVC 16-1, MN Select 16-3, and Rapid Spikers 16-1 from Iowa.
17 Gold
MVA 17-1 handled their Round 1 pool play action with relative ease winning all three matches with 2-0 set scores. They advance to Round 2 as Group 1’s top seed. Joining them as top seeds in the other three Group 1 pools are Kokoro 17-1, KEVC 17-1, and Vital 17-1 Gold. Crossfire 17-1 and Summit 17 Elite enter Round 2 with undefeated records also.
18 Gold
With a 3-0 record following Saturday’s schedule, the 18 Gold will be led by KEVC 18-1 as the top seed in Group 1 when Round 2 begins on Sunday. Joining them as top pool seeds in Group 1 are Vital 18-1 Gold, and Crossfire 18-1. Other teams finding good success in Round 1 include Dakota Elite and Central Lakes Juniors 18K, both finishing 3-0 on the day. A total of six teams will advance to the Gold bracket championship with the winners of Pool 8 and 9 advancing directly to the semifinals Sunday afternoon.
