Class of 2019 Updated Player Rankings: #21-30

With the start of the summer high school camps and conditioning just around the corner, it’s time to update our player rankings as we prepare for the start of the 2018 high school season. Each day we will release more Class of 2019 (can you believe it, you guys are finally seniors!) rankings until we get to the top. We’ve increased the number of ranked players to 210! Remember, these lists are fluid and updated often, so if you are ranked, congratulations and just know that people will be gunning to take your place wherever you are ranked. If you are not ranked, please remember that we do the best that we can to see and evaluate as many players in the state as possible during the high school and club seasons. Just because you aren’t ranked now doesn’t mean you won’t be in the future. For now, here are the players that are ranked #21-30. Thanks for all you did to make high school volleyball in Nebraska so amazing! #30 - Hope Leimbach, 5'5, Setter, Lincoln Lutheran (Nebraska ONE) - committed to Midland University What makes her so good: She has great hands, is an incredible leaper which allows her to be very effective at the net. Great court awareness and fierce competitor. I would take six Hope Leimbach's against any other six players every day. She's a relentless winner. She can move up if: No player in the 2019 class gets more out of their ability than Leimbach. If she were 5+ inches taller, she would be the best setter in the state and one of the best in the nation. #29 - Alexandra Lemke, 6'0, Setter/RS, Lincoln East (VCNebraska) - committed to Drake What makes her so good: Lemke has developed into a really good setter and has all the physical things coaches - being tall, a very good attacker and blocker and she's left-handed. She can move up if: As is common with tall setters, Lemke does not have the kind of quickness that allows her to bail out her back row when it struggles. She needs to be a triple-double machine for the Spartans. #28 - Maggie Brahamer, 6'0, OH/MH, Pierce - committed to Wayne State What makes her so good: Brahamer is probably the most athletically gifted volleyball player in the class that you haven't seen play. An incredible leaper with the ability to demolish the volleyball. Had a 39 kill, two error performance against Crofton last fall. She can move up if: Consistency is the key for Brahamer. With the ability she possess, limiting her errors and being consistently dominant at the C-1 level is well within her grasp. #27 - Paige Holdsworth, 5'10, OH, Millard North (Nebraska Elite) - committed to Bellevue University What makes her so good: Holdsworth attacks the ball like a linebacker goes after a running back or a hockey player crashes toward the net. She's very good defensively and hits one of the heaviest balls in Class A. She can move up if: She can play a clean back row on a nightly basis and harness that power to improve on her .172 hitting percentage. #26 - Anna McLain, 5'10, OH/MH/RS, Lincoln Pius X (VCNebraska) - committed to Queens University What makes her so good: McLain has basically been on fire since late October of last year. Her final seven matches of the 2017 season she averaged more than 12 kills a match while hitting .355 and carried it over into a great club season to start 2018. She can move up if: Pius X has so many weapons at the net that it won't be about piling up kills or digs for McLain, but rather continuing to be efficient for a full season. If she can hit .350+ for a full year, she's easily a top-20 player. #25 - Camryn Opfer, 6'1, OH, Seward (Nebraska ONE) - committed to Washburn University What makes her so good: Opfer is a naturally gifted multi-sport athlete that has shown a lot of improvement each season of her career and has really become a physical and strong weapon at the net. She can move up if: Developing more of an array of consistent shots would make her even harder to defend and one of the best attackers in the class. #24 - Delaney Humm, 5'10, OH, Lincoln Pius X (VCNebraska) - committed to Fort Hayes State What makes her so good: Humm really burst onto the scene last fall when she led the Thunderbolts in kills and became one of the best full-rotation outsides in the class. She has a knack of being able to deliver in critical moments. She can move up if: While a .237 hitting percentage last year was pretty good, improving that efficiency would boost her in the rankings. #23 - Mackenzie Saitta, 5'11, OH, Elkhorn South (Nebraska Elite) - committed to Tennessee-Chattanooga What makes her so good: Saitta has to have one of the best approach jump touches in the state and can elevate and pound the ball as well as anyone in the state. Her improvement has been consistent over the past couple years. She can move up if: Saitta has improved defensively, but still probably isn't a full-rotation player yet. Needs to be more efficient than her .277 hitting percentage from last year. #22 - Emmy Grant, 6'1, MH/RS, Millard North (Nebraska Elite) - committed to Northwest Missouri State What makes her so good: There is an easiness about Grant's athleticism that allows her to almost float along the net and then explode upward as a blocker and attacker. She is the most efficient attacker Millard North has and can dominate a match as a blocker. She can move up if: There is no middle in Class A that Grant will line up across from that is more talented or gifted than she is, so she should be a dominant force on a nightly basis. If she can do that, she'll move up. #21 - Lexie Langley, 6'0, OH, Archbishop Bergan (Nebraska ONE) - committed to Augustana What makes her so good: Langley's family moved from Gretna to Fremont before her freshman season and all she has done for the Knights is put up more than 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs as one of the state's best full-rotation outsides. She's a strong and powerful attacker that has thrived in one of the toughest conference in the state. She can move up if: Langley suffered a knee injury while at Prom (yes, seriously, Prom) which kept her from doing a whole lot during the second half of the club season. If she comes back healthy and continues to dominate in the Centennial Conference she will continue to move up.
