As the state of Minnesota has a rich history of producing high quality volleyball talent within their high school and club programs, these athletes will undoubtedly be ready for the next level when all is said and done with their prep careers, carrying that legacy of volleyball talent forward. Below are some notes for a few athletes ranked from 21-30 among the class of 2021.
Kali Engeman – 6’1 | MH/OH | Minnetonka H.S. | Northern Lights 16-2 | Prep Dig #22
Good footwork and arm speed with versatility in her offense to attack quick off of one or two feet. Has good vision and range with her arm when spacing allows her room and awareness of the defense in front of her. An effective blocker that transitions well to make herself available often offensively. With increased foot speed and a elevation she can become a premier player from this class. She was a 2018 Lake all-conference selection.
Brooke Weichbrodt – 5’10 | S | Concordia Academy | Kokoro 16-1 | Prep Dig #23
As a setter, has a some attributes that make her worth a good look; good size and length, athletic, and left-handed. Good touch and distribution across the net through a variety of locations and tempos that creates good diversity in her team’s offense and allows hitters to vary their attack points. A Tri-Metro all-conference selection for 2018, helped lead her team to the semi-finals of the class AA state tournament.
Kelly McArthur – 6’2 | S/RS | Bloomington Jefferson | N. Lights 16-Black | Prep Dig #24
Has great size that allows for versatility as a setter and right side hitter. Has the length to be very effective defensively on the right pin. Tons of competitive experience behind her from her high school and club teams, including time training with the USA Volleyball Girls Youth A3 team. Another athlete with the upside to become an high level recruit from this class.
