All State teams are usually flooded with Seniors. They have the experience, the skills, and the urgency of their last high school season. However, there are some special cases where there may be some coming up in the ranks and have found a way to standout in their class as a Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior. The All State teams in Minnesota are tough to make, plenty of elite future college talent. Who are the ones coming back from the 2018 All State teams to make some noise in 2019?
Class A All State Returners
Kora Kritzberger – Ada Borup
Lydia Lange – Caledonia
Kenidi McCabe – Mabel Canton
Claudia Stahlke – Mayer Lutheran
Olivia Tjernagel – Mayer Lutheran
Marlee Turn – Kittson County Central
Kora Kritzberger led her Ada-Borup team to a state tournament appearance and will be looking to do so again where she can score points at the net offensively and defensively.
Lydia Lange is a Winona State commit that is extremely dominant from anywhere on the court. She has really evolved in her all around game, but her strength is still being able to swing from either pin and from the middle as well. She is one of the top players in Southeast Minnesota.
Kenidi McCabe continued to lead the tradition rich Mabel Canton program to 30 wins in 2018 where she passed 2,000 career assists. McCabe will be returning for her Junior season and will be looking to have Mabel Canton bust through to the state tournament.
Claudia Stahlke and Olivia Tjernagel are quite the 1-2 punch for Mayer Lutheran at the net. Tjernagel played on the USA HP A1 team this summer and one of the top players in the state. She has verbally committed to play for Northern Iowa, one of the top programs in the Missouri Valley Conference. Stahlke is an extremely physical player at the net who can hit a variety of tempos, but is a major defensive presence as well.
Marlee Turn has such a fast arm and puts a ton of pace on the ball. She really jumped on the radar at the Class A Showcase at the Midwest Volleyball Warehouse in 2018 where she was extremely dominant.
Who Is On The Radar?
Makayla Snow – BOLD
Snow is going to be a Senior and one of the top setters in the area. She is a Northern State commit and really dynamic all around athlete. Snow already has a state title under her belt being part of the BOLD state championship golf team.
Lilly Wachholz – Mayer Lutheran
Natalee Rolbiecki takes a swing for Minneota at the state tournament.Getting three athletes from the same team would be extremely rare, but Wachholz is definitely one to watch from the pin. Mayer Lutheran was knocked out in the first round in 2018 and will be looking to get back to state and reclaim the title.
Natalee Rolbiecki – Minneota
Rolbiecki was named to the Class A All Tournament Team as a Freshman in 2018 as Minneota took the title. Minneota took a big hit to graduation, but with athletes like Rolbiecki coming back they will continue to make a push to get back to the state tournament.
