They have been drawing many of the top players in the state and this year is no different. While many on their oldest teams have committed, this season will bring new opportunities for those who are not.
Their Facebook page lists the reasons Vital Volleyball Volleyball Club appeals to so many:
- Player development is #1 priority.
- Culture in their gym matters.
- They care deeply about their athletes and want to help them accomplish their goals on and off the court.
- They have a professional college recruiting director who works with athletes for free.
- They have coaches and the director who have many connections within the volleyball community.
Here are few of the top setters playing for Vital Volleyball this club season:
Mikaila Winward 5’7”; St. Louis Park – 2020 uncommitted Vital Volleyball 18-1
- She finished her senior season with over 700 assists.
- Excellent server – seven matches with 4+ ace serves.
- Strong blocker -helps set the block to force hitters to other options.
- This season will allow her to set top players: Lyida Nash, Katie Paine, and Claudia Stahlke.
Cleo Haase 5’8”; Academy of Holy Angels- 2022 uncommitted Vital Volleyball 17-1 Gold
- As the back up setter to a strong, senior setter, Rachel Erazmus, it was a year of learning. She had lots of time to perfect her technique and learn from Erazmus. Playing on the 17’s team and in the 18’s age group for tournaments is a challenge we are sure she is excited for. She will likely share duties with teammate Shannon Murray.
Shannon Murray 5’7”; Burnsville- 2021 uncommitted Vital Volleyball 17-1 Gold
- She was the leader for the Burnsville Varsity. Throughout the season she displayed great heart and commitment to the game. They had a rough season finishing 10-18; yet, Murray reamined focus on putting forth her best athlete and working tirelessly to build her team up. New to Vital Volleyball , having played at Club 43, we know the coaches and competitive schedule will advance her skills
Cameron Berger 5’10”; Eden Prairie – 2023 uncommitted Vital Volleyball 16-1’s
- The Vital Volleyball 16-1’s will probably be one of their most competition teams with an impressive, young lineup filled with several high school starters. And although she was not a varsity starter for Eden Prairie, she was the only ninth grader who made the Eden Prairie team.
Aliya Dahlin 5’9”; St. Edina – 2022 uncommitted Vital Volleyball 16-2’s
- This is a great spot for Aliya to be. She is very athletic: fast feet, 25 inch vertical, and agile on defense too. Lots of the Vital Volleyball players play in the SAVA Juniors sand events and this has helped Aliya improve.
