The primary libero for a good
Lakeville South
program, Willman is hard not to watch or focus on as she is very active and highly engaged, even when she is not making a play or contact. She communicates well, she moves around the floor in full support of the developing play, and she brings a lot of competitiveness to the court. She has good movement in her serve receive game with balance and angle production. Her definitely provides highlights through her defense that starts with good vision and balance and can result in some great pursuit to the floor, overhead, or in establishing the right angles versus a hard driven ball.
Olivia Carel – 6’1 | OH/Opp | Club: MN Select 17-2 | Prep Dig #63
Carel’s stock definitely rose over the course of the high school season as she was a key element to STMA’s success. Primarily used at the opposite position in the fall she is now a primary left side attacker for her club team. She can score points and produces the same power from left just as well, if not better, that on the right pin. She shows good footwork in transition to give her self time to build momentum back to the ball that leads to a heavy arm that can overpower the block. Her ball control game needs evaluation to regard her as a true outside or if considered for a six-rotation situation. She has the foundation though to make a big impact across the three rotations in the front and that may be all this team needs from her given the support and skills she gets among her teammates.
Aleah Zieske – 5’10 | OH | Club:
Kandi Elite
17-2 | Prep Dig #65
Zieske is a member of KEVC’s 17-2 team but has the skills to contribute for a top team and raises the level of her KEVC 17-2 squad with her skills, athleticism, and competitiveness. She does great work to prepare herself to attack and gets herself in good position with a lot of time to pursue the set. She has good slow-to-fast movement that allows her to consistently get her feet to the ball and utilize her lift and balance to swing aggressively and with really good range. She was a key element to the New London-Spicer emergence as a contender during the fall high school season. She has great versatility in her ability to score points from both the left and right side and provides a lot of memorable moments given the pace she can bring.
Olivia Rooney – 5’11 | RH/MH | Club: | Synergy VBC 18-1 Prep Dig #68
Rooney has good elevation at the end of her attack patterns that gets her head at or above the tape. She is long and rangy and can swing effectively through multiple attack points and tempos. Primarily used on the right side for her Andover high school squad, she can also swing through the middle as she has good versatility to her skill set. Her quickness and lift off the floor also make her an effective blocker as she provides fast hand penetration across the net. She will be playing up an age group this club season for a solid Synergy 18-1 squad that includes their next action at the upcoming Northern Lights Qualifier.
Aniki Bolles – 5’6 | DS/L | Club: MN Select 17-2 | Prep Dig #69
Bolles provides great support for her team in the back row. She shows good connection to point flow with vision and patience, without wasting energy or unnecessary movement as she prepares for the serve or attack. She reads the block and the ball and can make adjustments with her feet and platform angles to get the ball in a good position for her setter high and off the net. She also shows good reaction and range to pursue the ball in any direction, including strong hands to take the ball overhead with good accuracy. This MN Select 71-2 team will next see action at the Northern Lights Qualifier this coming weekend.
