– 6’2 | Northern Lights 17-2
McArthur is developing great fluidity in her movement around the court to get to the spot on balance and with good hand preparation prior to receiving the ball off the pass. She has high hand position that makes her difficult to read as a tall setter as she can quickly distribute to the middle or use quick and compact extension to get the ball to the pin. Her size also makes her an offensive threat when in the front row. She shows good command of the offense including variation in her distribution that gets a lot hitters involved and that applies added pressure to the defense.

– 6’1 | MN Select 17-2
Carel continues to get better and better as a primary attacker on the left pin for this team. As she occupied the right side most often for her St. Michael-Albertville team during the high school season, she is showing great command of her attacking opportunities on the outside during club thus far. What she lacks in elevation she makes up for in good arm control and the ability to overpower a block with good heat as shown at times during the Triple Crown. She has good slow-to-fast footwork that helps created the needed momentum to capitalize well on that arm strength at the peak of her jump. She is also developing well as a six-rotation contributor with her ball control and defense.
Sophie Jesewitz

– 6’4 | M1 17-1
Jesewitz is commanding a lot of attention given her ability to play six rotations very effectively at 6’4. She can score at the net and from the back row as well as provide good stability in with her ball control and platform skills in serve receive and defensively. She is athletic and agile, which allows her to pursue the ball with good quickness and range in all facets of the game. Count on her to continue developing over the next few months and solidifying her position as one of the most coveted prospects in the 2021 class from Minnesota.

– 6’2 | MN Select 17-1
Johnson has a long extension in all of her arm work, wether swinging or in her block move to the pin. She can score from both pins and is improving the quality of her attacks in getting her feet to the ball consistently so she can maximize her lift and contact point in the air. A big part of the sizable roster and net play for this team she is developing good arm control and range that includes power.
Sophie Kobienia

Willmar | 2021

MN
– 6’0 | KEVC 17-2
Perhaps under the radar a bit, Kobienia deserves a good look and evaluation given the dynamic nature of her play on the right pin. As a lefty she can get after the ball quickly through different tempos with good torque and pace through her upper body mechanics when she swings. She provides a good block move as well making her a dual threat on both sides of the ball. She is a key element of this second team for KEVC that is any bit as good as most top teams.
Middles

MN
– 6’2 | MN Select 17-2
Favor has good mobility in the middle to run a variety of offensive options and tempos. Her transition work is quick and aggressive as she does a nice job of locating the ball as she is making her move of the net. She reads that play development well to make herself available as an offensive option. Defensively, she has good vision and patience in loading her block that allows her to fill up good space above the net. Another strength of hers is in her serving and she is crafty and has good touch and control. Overall, she brings a lot of energy to the floor for her team and works hard through all of her responsibilities.
Carissa Richie

– 6’0 | M1 17-1
Richie is steady. She is the type of athlete can just does her job, not getting too high or low in her emotional output, and going about her work with good effectiveness and efficiency and not trying to do more than her role. She moves around the floor well on both sides of the ball. She can close down hitters through a dynamic swing block move and with good balance and hand penetration at the net. Her footwork patterns and serve receive and transition are quick and fluid. One area she can continue to improve upon is in her last two step to close to the ball that allows her a bigger double-arm left for added elevation and balance while also creating more natural torque for power.
Ella Thompson

Thompson

Lakeville North | 2021
State
MN
– 6’1 | Northern Lights 17-2
Arguably one of the most physical attackers in the 2021 class, Thompson is aggressive in her movement patterns that often lead to a heavy swing. She is hard not to notice around the floor given her intentionality to work hard every play to do what is needed for her team. She has good elevation and develops a good relationship with her setter regarding spacing and timing through a variety of set options. She can score in front off of two feet and equally as well pursuing the slide attack to the pin. Defensively, she shows good patience and eye work that help her close down hitters in both directions.
