Ellie Launstein Ellie Launstein 5'9" | S Rosemount | 2021 State MN is a 5’9” setter from Rosemount. She contributed in every way last year for her high school team alongside teammate and fellow setter, Ava Cinnamo Ava Cinnamo 5'8" | S Rosemount | 2022 State MN . Her strength lies in her ability to find her niche on a team. She can easily handle setting duties or easily steps up to add kills on offense and blocks and digs on defense. This year she played on the 17-2’s team for M1. Look for this all-around player this fall in the South Suburban conference.
Next in the senior, setting trio is Elise Rietveld from Rochester John Marshall. Last year, the Rockets had a great season running a solid 6-2 offense with Chayse Paulson as the lead setter. Both return and Rietveld worked hard this off-season to improve her skills. This club season she made the 17-1 for Southern Minnesota Volleyball club; a big jump from the previous when she was on the 16-3 proving she is peaking in time for her senior season. Paulson has also played for SMV, but opted out this year. The pair will be essential to their success in the Big Nine Conference.
Another talented player in the setter position is Faith Lobo. Tartan High school uses the 5’10” setter as a operator and initiator of their offense. She loves to do one-handed power tips at the net and hits overpasses like an experienced middle. During the 2019 high school season she was in the top 20 for set assists. Lobo has a great serve and tallied nearly 40 aces last year. In fact, she led or was second in nearly every category for the Tartan’s that went 17-
