The motivation that drives some to work overtime can not be created; it’s intrinsic and a reflection of the work ethic of those special individuals. Chloe Lieser Chloe Lieser 5'6" | S Rocori | 2021 State MN is a prime example.
Lieser is a 5’6” setter out of Rocori High School. Small in stature, but great foot speed. She has pushed her athletic abilities having played Kandi Elite Volleyball Club and more recently MN Northern Lights. Her passion for the game comes across every time she takes the court.
- Setting – She has smooth hands and an effortless style. Her hand positioning and release help her deliver her sets from pin to pin. She puts perfet tempo on the ball when running her middles. When pushing to the outside, she is able to speed up pace of the game. She demonstrates her greatness by making smart choices in response to the defense. Likewise, her jump sets make it hard for teams to anticipate her placement.
- Defense – Typically she is setting out of the back row, but Chloe always stays to play defense. Her speed to the net means a hittable all on every play. With her quick reactions, she covers a wide area; and when needed, she executes near perfect sprawls across the floor. She has a technical platform would make a wondeful libero.
- Serving – Again, while serving her full athlecit ability is on display opting for a jump serve. Chloe has unique strength and explosive power, giving her serve a nice speed. Easily, one of the best servers no matter what team she’s on. She is consistent and places the ball to the deep zones.
Student Athlete: Her skills don’t end there, she is a three sport athlete playing basketball and softball. Carrying over her strong work ethic has served her well academically as she is the top student in a class of nearly 200. She has aspirations of a career in the medical field as a Neo-Natal doctor. And of course, she wants to continue her studies while playing volleyball; a perfect example of what it takes to be a student athlete.
So what has Chloe been up to during the COVID-19 shutdown? While we can’t say for sure, it’s likely: lifting weights, studying, sketching and adding to her online recuiting profiles or uploading more high-light tapes.
