Top Performers: Hopkinsville at Christian County

<p>Longtime rivals Hopkinsville and Christian County met in an 8th District volleyball match on Monday, Sept. 21. </p>

<p>Christian County dealt Hopkinsville its second straight setback in rivalry match, winning 3-1. </p>
<p>Host Christian County managed to pull away to defeat Hopkinsville 21-25, 25-18, 29-27, 25-9.</p>
<p>Christian County claimed its third straight win. </p>
<p>With the win, Christian County improved to 3-2.</p>
<p>Hopkinsville dropped to 2-5 with the loss. </p>

<p>The top performers for Christian County were [player_tooltip player_id="68096" first="Macy" last="Baker"] (14 kills, 7 service aces), Paris Buckner (9 kills), Hailey Sparks (3 kills, 1 block, 17 assists, 8 service aces), Chantelle Haby (11 assists) and Queinasia Henery (5 kills, 2 blocks, 1 assist, 2 service aces). </p>
<p>The top performers for Hopkinsville were Hailey Hallmark (13 kills, 4 blocks, 1 assist, 1 dig), Alyssa Bearns (10 kills, 1 block, 2 assists, 1 dig, 1 service ace), Lauren Watkins (25 assists, 1 dig, 1 service ace), Averie Turner (4 kills, 2 blocks) and Lupita Vieyra (4 kills, 1 block, 2 assists, 2 digs, 2 service aces). </p>
<p>Christian County is slated to visit rival Hopkinsville for another 8th District volleyball match on October 1. </p>
<p>Each volleyball team from the 8th District (2nd Region) opened its 2020 season earlier in the month following a shortened preseason. </p>
<p>Both Hopkinsville and Christian County will compete in the 8th District Volleyball Tournament in October. </p>
