First we broke the players down by division and then we switched gears to analyze who are expected to be the most outstanding athletes in the top teams of each of those divisions.
For the next several weeks, we’ll dive even deeper, taking a closer look at each of the 46 district leagues in the state of Washington and pointing out the players we believe will be worth your attention in the near future.
After diving into the east portion of the 1A SCAC (South Central Athletic Conference) district, now we head to the West, where five high schools will play each other, and their best three players are:
Brooke Silvernail – Outside Hitter – Senior – La Salle
Brooke Silvernail has been in great form since her first year of high school volleyball, making it to the All-League team in each of her first three seasons with La Salle, but 2019 was easily her best showing. Averaging nearly 15 kills per match, the technical outside hitter was the Lightning’s focal point on offense and responded more than well, earning her first All-League Player of the Year Award and been included in the All-State first team for the first time. Besides her offensive power and her ability to hit the ball from anywhere in the court, Silvernail, who also plays volleyball on the sand, is a great passer too.
Allison Uecker – Outside Hitter – Senior – Naches Valley
Allison Uecker was originally a setter at the start of her high school volleyball career and she did well in the position, earning an All-League team nomination in 2018. She transitioned to the outside hitter in 2019 and quickly figured out how to make the most or her 5’10” frame and her technical skills to be one of the best in the district for Naches Valley, consistently scoring in double digits and providing some defensive solidness for the Rangers.
Trista Hull – Middle-Blocker – Senior – La Salle
Trista Hull did a great job for La Salle last season and her strong game prompted her to receive an All-State team honorable mention. The middle-blocker, who’s also a very good basketball player, was a force at the net for the Lightning and besides adding to the team’s blocking game with her 6’2” frame, she also shared the scoring duties with Silvernail magnificently, offering the team two reliable offensive options at the net.
