First we broke the players down by division and then we switched gears to analyze who are expected to be the most outstanding athletes in the top teams of each of those divisions.
For the next several weeks, we’ll dive even deeper, taking a closer look at each of the 46 district leagues in the state of Washington and pointing out the players we believe will be worth your attention in the near future.
As we start exploring the 2B class, we have the Bi-County district, which has ten high schools and some of their players with the greatest upside are:
Anni Cox – Libero – Senior – Colfax
Her first three years of high school volleyball have shown Anni Cox can dig balls. The 5’3” Colfax defender has been part of the All-State team in each of the last two seasons, as a second-team member in 2018 and an honorable mention last year. Last season, she ended the season with impressive 361 digs and, most importantly, didn’t shy when it mattered for the Bulldogs, combining for 29 digs and nine aces in the team’s final two matches at the State Championship.
Mia Tunison – Ouside Hitter – Junior – Northwest Christian
Northwest Christian had no trouble scoring points in 2019 and that had a lot to do with Mia Tunison’s presence. The 5’8” outside hitter was a force at the net, ending the season with impressive 204 kills for the Crusaders. She’s a great all-around player and showed it once again in 2019, when she ranked second in aces (82) and digs (231) and third in passes (284) for her team on her way to secure a second-straight All-State team honorable mention.
Madison Schriver – Setter – Senior – Asotin
Madison Schriver was a bright spot in Asotin’s inconsistent campaign in 2019. The 5’8” setter did a good job setting her teammates up at the net with 212 assists, but also posted promising numbers in other areas of the game, tallying 40 kills, 22 aces, eight blocks and 58 digs for the Panthers.
