First we broke the players down by division and then we switched gears to analyze who are expected to be the most outstanding athletes in the top teams of each of those divisions.
For the next several weeks, we’ll dive even deeper, taking a closer look at each of the 46 district leagues in the state of Washington and pointing out the players we believe will be worth your attention in the near future.
The 2B Central district features as many as 12 high schools and some of their players with the greatest upside are:
Haily Murray – Outside Hitter/Middle-Blocker – Senior – Napavine
Haily Murray has been a leader for Napavine in every sense of the word. The six-footer has successfully led the Lady Tigers’ efforts on the court, but is also one of the team’s captains, offering an important voice for her teammates to rely on. Murray, who received an All-State second-team nomination, is very strong at the net but can also play defense and provides her team with a much-welcomed portion of versatility thanks to her ability to perform as both an outside hitter and a middle-blocker.
Paige Chinchen – Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist – Junior – Kalama
Paige Chinchen has the entire package to be an elite outside hitter. The Kalama prospect has a well-developed all-around game and has the ability to impact virtually every aspect of the game. At 5’9”, she can handle herself very well at the net with the Chinooks, but also possesses a strong defensive game, which allows her to play as a defensive specialist. A dangerous server, Chinchen, who’s also a track and field athlete, was part of the All-State team as an honorable mention in 2019.
Kaeley Schultz – Outside Hitter/Middle-Blocker – Junior – Rainier
Kaeley Schultz is a very good basketball player for Rainier, but she also knows her way around a volleyball court. The 5’9” prospect has great athleticism and a solid all-around game, which allows her to offer an important contribution for the Mountaineers as both the outside hitter and middle-blocker positions.
