There were a lot of setters on Sunday that were very versatile, in that they could play pretty much anywhere on the floor! Here is a look at some of my setters to keep an eye on as club season approaches:

I mentioned how impressive Grand Island Central Catholic’s 6’0" [player_tooltip player_id="104674" first="Carolyn" last="Maser"] and Millard South’s 5’8" [player_tooltip player_id="102193" first="Audrey" last="Behrens"] were in two previous articles. They were my top two picks from Sunday’s Expo, but theses other setters did a fantastic job and also played other postions during team and various wash drills.

Class of 2022 5’5" [player_tooltip player_id="102989" first="Jaiden" last="Coudeyras"] High School: Beatrice Club: Nebraska Juniors

I watched Jaiden during several high school matches this season and she does a fantastic job leading her team and makes setting look effortless. She also plays great floor defense as well. Jaiden has very good court vision and she had a very deceitful dump to zone 6 during the Dog House drill that completely froze the defense. Coudreyras chipped in 31 ace serves, 242 digs and eclipsed 647 set assists this past fall for the Lady Orange. Look for her to continue to get better as club season progresses!

Class of 2024 5’9" [player_tooltip player_id="104981" first="Aubrey" last="O’Hare"] High School: Gothenburg Club: Nebraska Gold

When I first started watching her on the court you would of thought she was a pin hitter as she was hitting from the right side. She really hit the ball well from the opposite side. When I glanced down at my sheet though, she was listed as a setter as her primary postion. She is very strong and a good leader on the floor. She would be a great addition to any program looking to run a 6-2 and will continue to get stronger as she just finished her freshman year.

This was a player I was particulary interested in watching live, since my only opportunity this year was to watch her on Striv.Tv against Central Conference foe York this past fall. I wrote about her previously in Setters Looking to Rise at Expo. She did not dissapoint! The one thing that stuck out to me the most was what a great leader she was on the floor despite meeting some of her teammates just that morning. She would be a great steal for a program!
