Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
Maser’s reign in the Grand Island Central Catholic lineup helped maintain the standard of excellence we’re used to seeing from the central Nebraska dynasty. The Drake commit dished the ball to a lot of different frontcourt hitters this year, and she remained steady despite the lineup shuffles. That’s the kind of reliability that will suit Maser well at the next level.

Our first athlete featured on this recap has done it all on Nebraska’s prep stage, so it’s no surprise to see her make a big-time college commitment. Maser, a state championship-winning setter with Grand Island Central Catholic, recently gave her pledge to play D1 volleyball at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. The Bulldogs will surely take advantage of Maser’s physicality and savvy distribution when she arrives on campus in 2024.

You could argue that Maser was Class C1’s MVP last year. She guided the Grand Island Central Catholic offense to a state title while piling up well over ten assists per set in the process. Maser has just given her collegiate pledge to Drake and will have one more opportunity to shine on Nebraska’s biggest prep stage.

Maser is one of Nebraska’s most recent 2024 college commitments, and her future at Iowa D1 program Drake is sure to be bright. Before that, however, there’s unfinished business at Grand Island Central Catholic, one of Nebraska’s most persistent volleyball powerhouses. Maser will keep up her dominance as a master distributor who can also harness some well-timed attacks in the frontcourt.

I was thrilled to see Maser back on the club stage this spring, particularly at Kansas City’s Show Me Qualifier. She’s fresh off a state championship with Grand Island Central Catholic, which is bound to draw plenty of attention already. But Maser has also put her setting prowess and leadership skills on display with Nebraska Juniors. This is one of Nebraska’s highest-profile 2024s who has yet to make a college pledge.

We’ll talk a lot about frontcourt attackers in this feature, but let’s start by bringing a setter on board. Maser has long been a key contributor in the Nebraska Juniors gym, and she just added a high school championship ring to her docket last fall. The GICC product is certainly not a blocking liability whenever she’s along the net.

Like Ryan, Maser has seen the very top of Nebraska’s prep volleyball hierarchy. She set her Grand Island Central Catholic squad to a state championship this year, and that success ought to translate to another strong season with Nebraska Juniors. Maser has experience playing a year up on the club side and will not be phased by any team across the net.
