However, we know one of the reasons why many of you follow high school volleyball is to try and anticipate which prospects have what it takes to succeed at the collegiate level and beyond. So, in this series, we’ll share our best guesses and list the top student-athletes from each of the next three graduating classes in each State district.
The Sea-Tac District reunites 13 high schools from both the 1B and 2B classes and here are the players we picked:
Class of 2021
Heloisa Sarli – Outside Hitter – Pudget Sound Adventist
It might be hard to believe 5’6” Heloisa Sarli was the second-best scorer of a Pudget Sound Adventist team that cruised through the district with nine wins in as many matches and only two sets lost in 2019, but if you watch her play for five minutes you’ll easily understand why her great technique and superior volleyball IQ overpower her limited size. Sarli’s offense is built upon smart, well-placed shots which generated her 121 kills last season and her overall game with the Lady Sharks wasn’t less impressive with a very low number of errors and 33 aces, 167 digs and 164 passes.
Class of 2022
Bridget Hitt – Middle-Blocker – Quilcene
Bridget Hitt started her trajectory with Quilcene back in 2017 as an eight-grader defensive specialist. In her freshman campaign, she was a setter. Her versatility continued in display last season, when she played as a middle-blocker and was the Rangers’ second-best hitter with 97 kills and led the team in blocks with 43. The 5’8” prospect still conserves much of the skills from her previous roles, though, as she produced 90 assists and 153 digs besides 24 aces and 46 passes for her team in 2019.
Class of 2023
Ella-Leigh Rockwell – Outside Hitter – Crosspoint
Ella-Leigh Rockwell first appeared on Crosspoint’s roster during the 2018 season as an eighth-grader. The 5’5” outside hitter took things to another level last season, though, when she became a key piece in the Warriors’ system, providing an impact in virtually every area of the game. She led the team offensively with 127 kills and jaw-dropping 106, defensively with 345 digs and still added a second-best mark of 196 passes. Rockwell is very explosive and has a passionate and determined personality that spreads within her team.
