Continue ReadingHigh school volleyball is over in Washington and even though we were gifted with less action than we’re used to due to the abbreviated season, several players around the state made the most of the opportunity to develop and showcase their games in each of the 46 leagues of the Evergreen state.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll take some time to honor their efforts and use this space to provide a brief recap of how the season played out in each of those districts and to highlight the players who earned all-league team nominations and MVP awards for their excellent performances.
3A Pierce County
Wilson was clearly the top team in the district as the Rams won all of their nine matches dropping only five sets to opponents. Stadium (7-2) and Spanaway Lake (6-4) also ended the season with a positive record while Bonney Lake had four wins and four losses.
MVP
Noelani McGivern – Spanaway Lake – Outside Hitter – 2021
Noelani McGivern did a great job for Spanaway Lake on both ends of the game. The 5’8” outside hitter ended her high school career on a high as she led the Sentinels in kills (98) and aces (15) ranked third in digs (81). She also had 49 passes during the season.
