Players to Watch
Beatrice Anitei – Middle Blocker – HS: Bothell – 2023
Beatrice Anitei is SIVBC 16 Thunder’s main option at middle blocker and one of the team’s most interesting scoring options. Anitei stands at 6’2” and is very long, making it very difficult for opposing blockers to deal with her. She’s also able to hit a handful of different sets, which doesn’t make things any easier for them. Anitei is also a very solid blocker as she not only moves well at the net but does a great job in placing her hands across the net and taking over space from opposing hitters.
Bella Meyers – Outside Hitter – HS: Eastside Catholic – 2023
Bella Meyers’ main asset as a volleyball player is his potent offense. A six-footer, she can score points from both sides of the net and is able to put the ball down no matter the situation. Meyers has a rare combination of size and skills and is a key member of SIVBC 16 Thunder due to her ability to contribute at the net but also to impact the team’s passing and defensive efforts.
Emily Dean – Setter – HS: Lakeside – 2023
Emily Dean has a handful of interesting options to use when running SIVBC 16 Thunder’s offense and she does a great job with them. A very technical setter, she also excels when it comes to ball distribution. Dean is never shy about using her middles and she tries (and normally succeeds) to do so even when working with a less-than-ideal pass. She’s 5’7” but got long arms which makes of her a solid blocker too.
