With that in mind, we’re starting a series that will highlight some of the most promising Washington players according to their positions and regions. This time we’ll be looking at the talent-rich Spokane are and here are some of the most interesting middle blockers in the region.
Emily Hutchinson Emily Hutchinson 6'2" | MB Mead | 2022 WA – HS: Mead – Club: Renovators – 2022
Emily Hutchinson Emily Hutchinson 6'2" | MB Mead | 2022 WA is a key piece for both her high school team Mead and her club Renovators. A 6’1” middle blocker, she does great work on both sides of the game at the net. Hutchinson is extremely physical and she’s able to transfer all of her athleticism to her game, especially on offense. She’s nearly unstoppable when she hits to her left as send the ball to a really sharp angle and straight down. Her footwork is also really good, which helps her a lot when blocking.
Kelsie Delp Kelsie Delp 6'0" | MB North Central | 2023 WA – HS: North Central – Club: Renovators – 2023
Kelsie Delp Kelsie Delp 6'0" | MB North Central | 2023 WA has been a positive impact in her high school team North Central since her freshman season. She’s also plays for the Renovators Volleyball Club, where she displays all her skills in the middle of the net. Standing at 5’11”, Delp is not among the most physical players in her position but she’s extremely fast and efficient, one of the most lethal combinations in volleyball. She made it to the Greater Spokane all-league first team last season after a strong campaign with the Indians.

Abbey Flerchinger – HS: Shadle Park – Club: CPA Extreme – 2024
Abbey Flerchinger left a pretty good impression in her first season of high school, in which she got to play alongside her older sister and outside hitter Chloe. A 5’11” middle blocker, she offers a reliable presence at the net for both her high school team Shadle Park and her club CPA Extreme. Flerchinger moves extremely well for a player of her size and age and has a powerful right arm, which she uses to score points on offense.
