The Braves secured their sixth state title on Friday evening, when they defeated the Walla Walla Valley Academy Knights 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-12) in the final at the Yakima Valley SunDome to cap off an undefeated campaign of 22 wins.
Outside hitters Ellie Marble (junior) and Sarah Cook (senior) led the team’s scoring efforts in the final with 20 and 13 points respectively while senior setter Emma Keller produced 39 assists and senior libero Rachel Cram delivered 22 digs.
Third-place match
The Manson Trojans defeated the Raymond Seagulls 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-12) to get their second-best finish in the State Championship. Seniors Maycee Ward (outside hitter) and Josephine Thompson (setter) stood out in the team’s campaign.
Fifth-place match
The Colfax Bulldogs downed the Goldendale Timberwolves 3-1 (18-25, 25-18, 25-13, 25-20) to finish in the top five. Senior outside hitter Asher Cai and setter Justice Brown led the Bulldogs’ efforts this season.
Seventh-place match
The Liberty Lancers finished seventh after they took care of the Adna Pirates in four sets (25-21, 23-25, 25-19, 25-22).
