Continue ReadingSaturday in Pontiac was a great opportunity to get prospects from the state of Michigan a chance to shine during the Prep Dig Top 250 Expo for Michigan.
The Class of 2025 had an impressive group of players take part, with a couple dozen showing what the future of the state has to offer.
Here’s a look at Part 1 of those prospects. Click here for Part 2.
Players listed in alphabetical order
Addison Ashley, MB Saline/Michigan Elite: Ashley had a lot of good pop in her swings and is able to deliver a lot of velocity with her attacks. She can continue to improve on her footwork, but definitely can be a difference maker.
Gabriella Babinski Gabriella Babinski 6'1" | RS South Lyon East | 2025 State MI , OH South Lyon East/Michigan Elite: Babinski was a good effort player. Along with sound skills at the net, she puts in the work defensively and did a good job of keeping a lot of rallies going.
Sophia Bachman, S Buchanan/Krush: Bachman has a skillset to work with and definitely shows signs of a high ceiling. She needs to improve on her court command. She was a little apprehensive at times, but needs to trust in her abilities.
Izzy Busignani, OH Marian/Michigan Elite: Busignani was one of the standouts of the event. She had a relentless motor and was able to continually put her attacks in great spots. She already has good length at 6’1”, but also adds in a lot of explosiveness.
Jessica Costlow Jessica Costlow 5'11" | OH SMCC | 2025 State #142 Nation MI , MH SMCC/Michigan Elite: Costlow was another top performer at the Expo. Though listed as a middle, Costlow showed a complete all-around game. She had elite hitting skills, but also defended and served at a high level.
Ella Craggs Ella Craggs 5'9" | S Northville | 2025 State #127 Nation MI , S Mercy/Michigan Elite: Craggs is also another special 2025 prospect. She is a setter, but also has great hitting skills. She’s an explosive athlete that has great form on both her setting and her attacks. There’s a really big upside for Craggs.
Chloe Giehtbrock Chloe Giehtbrock 6'2" | S Marian | 2025 State MI , S Clarkston/Michigan Elite: Giehtbrock also has some good length as a 2025 player, which provides a great skillset base for a setter. She’s got good instincts and responded well to the feedback she received throughout the day.
Kacee Gray, OH Cass City/Thumb Fusion: Gray was an exploder. She could catch you off guard by some of her attacks, but she needs a little more confidence on the court. Gray has the ability to match swings with a lot of the best in 2025, she just needs to work on believing it.
Sarah Groot, RS Northville/Michigan Elite: Groot has a good base to work with. She moves well, but needs to add some new shots to her arsenal and mix things up a little more. She’s a determined player and in a good program to develop her skillset.
Shelby Ignash Shelby Ignash 6'1" | MB Cass City | 2025 State #124 Nation MI , MH Cass City/Thumb Fusion: Ignash was another that caught a lot of eyeballs. She really good deliver attacks with high termination, but also was a real effort player. Ignash is going to go far if she continues to show the same work ethic she did on Saturday.
Alyssa Jasman, L/DS Lakeview/Michigan Elite: Jasman has really quick feet, which made her stand out during drills. She also has active eyes and was able to read the court very well. When she didn’t have the greatest pass, she bounced back very well.
Kylie Kennedy Kylie Kennedy 5'5" | DS/L Lakeland | 2025 State MI , L/DS Lakeland/L2: Kennedy was easy to spot, partly because her shirt was so big, but mostly because she gave as much effort as anyone. She really left everything on the court in each session and also made a lot of great plays in the back row.
