Some early tournaments were played in December and they gave us a nice warm-up for what’s ahead but the bulk of the season really starts now and we’re about to start watching the most exciting prospects of the state in nearly a weekly basis.
Everyone has their favorite players to follow or watch and this week we’ll try to offer new options during this week, pointing out players who could be poised for a fantastic club season based on what they recently did for their high school teams.
This time, we’ll take a look at some middle blockers:
Danielle Brown – Club: DaKine Warriors – HS: Puyallup – 2024
A rising star in the state of Washington, Danielle Brown gave another step forward in her still young career with a solid sophomore season with Puyallup. The 6’2” middle blocker displayed great progress and ranked among the best in the state in the two most important areas of her game, having produced 261 kills and 136 blocks last season. Such a strong performance has propelled her to be part of both the Washington Coaches Association and Prep Dig’s All-State first teams. Part of one of the most solid club programs in the state in DaKine Warriors, she’s poised to another great showing during the club season.
Hayli Tri – Club: Washington Volleyball Academy – HS: Lake Stevens – 2023
The younger sister of longtime Lake Stevens standout Karli, Hayli Tri is family her family’s tradition in volleyball in the state of Washington. A Western Washington commit, the six-foot junior middle blocker was lights out this past season, making it to both the Washington Coaches Association and Prep Dig’s All-State first teams after registering 140 kills and 85 blocks. She will certainly continue to shine during the club season with her Washington Volleyball Academy team.
Beatrice Anitei – Club: Sudden Impact – HS: Bothell – 2023
Another junior who further established herself as one of the top players in her position in the Evergreen State, Beatrice Anitei is ready to rock in the club season as part of a solid Sudden Impact team. The 6’2” middle blocker was very consistent over the last few months, helping her team Bothell win the State Championship with 150 kills and 72 blocks on her way to secure a spot in our Prep Dig All-State second team.
