16s teams up to a great season start – NPJ Seattle 16 National
The club season has entered its third month in the state of Washington and it’s already possible to point out some teams that have been performing at a really high level during the early tournaments of the calendar.
We’ll constantly use this space during the club season to highlight the top performers and this week we’ll feature some of the 16s teams in the Evergreen State that are up to a promising start of the season.
NPJ Seattle 16 National
The team from the North Pacific Juniors Volleyball Club in Seattle dominated its first event in the year, the Puget Sound Region Power League, with three wins. At the Matt Hartner Memorial Classic in Oregon, NPJ Seattle 16 National ranked 11th after winning six of their eight matches.
Players to Watch:
Tea Bosanac – Middle Blocker – HS: Seattle Prep – 2024
Tea Bosanac is a fast-evolving middle blocker in the state of Washington. She first became popular in the volleyball scene in the Evergreen State because of her 6’4” frame but has since then shown her game goes well beyond that. Bosanac is an efficient blocker and has developed an extremely powerful and reliable offense. A member of the USAV Future Select A1 National Training Team in 2018, 2019 and 2020, she registered 232 kills, 55 blocks and 41 aces in the last high school season, when she made it to the Washington Coaches Association All-State team as an honorable mention.

Simone Grieser – Setter/Right Sider – HS: Woodinville – 2024
A versatile right-sided player who excels in both roles she plays for NPJ Seattle 16 National, Simone Grieser has become a key piece of the team this year. She’s outstanding in the backcourt with excellent setting skills and a very aggressive and efficient serve. When at the net, the 5’11” Grieser uses her length and her skilled left arm to score points at ease, strengthening the team’s offense.
Avery Kimball – Outside Hitter – HS: Tahoma – 2024
Avery Kimball is an explosive player, who excels anywhere on the net. The six-footer typically plays middle for her high school team Tahoma but given NPJ Seattle 16 National’s wide array of options, has been moved to the pin, where she showed she can also contribute while giving the team an interesting addition of size. Kimball is a very good blocker and is extremely efficient on offense, be it when hitting from the middle or the left.
