The four-month tournament is typically the stage for some intriguing battles and is where players go beyond their limits to perform and chase victories.
This year’s edition of the Power League has started in early January and over the course of the month and each division has played at least one stop (or the seeding day). The 18s Division, which combines 17s and 18s teams from the Evergreen State is one of the most advanced with two rounds already completed.
This week, we’re highlighting some of the teams that had the best performances in the division so far and today’s topic is Rainier U18 Summit, the 18s team from the Rainier Volleyball Club out of Enumclaw, which won six and lost two matches in the first two rounds.

Key Players
Marissa Dahl – Setter – HS: White River – 2022
Having a reliable and intelligent setter makes things easier for any volleyball team and Rainier U18 Summit is privileged for having Marissa Dahl. The 5’5” setter is one of the best ball handlers in the age group in the state of Washington and does an excellent job in running the team’s offense since she joined the club from Puyallup Juniors. Dahl is coming from a stellar high school season with White River in which she produced 869 assists (nine per set), 296 digs and 58 aces.
Allie Edwards – Middle Blocker – HS: Orting – 2024
When it comes to potential, it’s easy to point out Allie Edwards as the most interesting prospect on this Rainier U18 Summit team. She’s not only the single class of 2024 player to be on the roster, playing against opponents who are two years older, but also the tallest player in the team at 6’2”. Edwards is not only tall, but she also has a strong lower body, which will help her a lot going forward. She had a significant impact in her high school team Orting last year as a sophomore, ranking third in kills (54), first in blocks (38) and fourth in aces (16).
Carmen Perez – Outside Hitter – HS: Orting – 2023
Another player competing above her age group, Carmen Perez plays a central role in Rainier U18 Summit’s success. A very technical and productive outside hitter, the 5’8” Perez helps the team in several different areas and keeps it in rhythm during matches. A teammate of Edwards in their high school team Orting, she led the team in kills (144), aces (57) and digs (178) and ranked third in passes (170).
