<p>Defensive specialists were among the top freshmen for teams throughout Region 4 during the 2021 high school volleyball season.</p>
<p>Here are five 2025 Region 4 defensive players to watch. </p>
<p><strong>Mia Andrews</strong> is a freshman defensive specialist from Warren East High School. Andrews is poised to take on a larger role for her team during the 2022 high school volleyball season. Quick, Andrews covers the court thoroughly and delivers defensively consistently. </p>
<p><strong>Kellie Brown</strong> is a freshman defensive specialist from Clinton County High School. Brown moves well from side to side and is quick-reacting. A player who possesses solid back row skills, Brown has shown the ability to produce from the front row if needed. </p>
<p><strong>Claire Lawless</strong> is a freshman defensive specialist from Bowling Green High School. Lawless possesses solid defensive skills, allowing her to excel. A key contributor for her high school team, Lawless is athletic and makes challenging defensive plays regularly. </p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="159373" first="Lindy" last="Mitchell"]</strong> is a freshman defensive specialist/libero from Logan County High School. Mitchell possesses solid passing skills and defensive skills, allowing her to thrive as both a defensive specialist and a libero. A productive passer, Mitchell can also set. </p>
<p><strong>Leyla Spurlock</strong> is a freshman defensive specialist from Allen County-Scottsville High School. Spurlock digs and pursues well, producing from various parts of the court. Athletic, Spurlock has shown the ability to lead early in her prep career. </p>
