JVA Watchlist – Minnesota 2024s

The JVA watchlist is out and there are a lot of players to be watched in the class of 2024. Here are a few I’ve seen recently. [player_tooltip player_id="169070" first="Kaitlyn" last="Erickson"] – 2024 – Libero – Synergy Sports I remember seeing Erickson at our Prep Dig 250 because she had nice defensive movement, was a great communicator and had a wicked serve. [player_tooltip player_id="184743" first="Madeline" last="Muellner"] – 2024 – 5’11 - Middle Blocker – Forest Lake – Kokoro 16-1 Muellner first impressed me at the Prep Dig 250 in Minnesota in December with her fast feet and high swing. She showed no fear and just went hard after every ball. Muellner next impressed me at the Mizuno Showcase in early March with her ability to bring the ball back to the 1 corner and score at will, making her a crucial piece to the Kokoro squad. [player_tooltip player_id="174364" first="Nora" last="Gruman"] – 2024 – 5’10 - Outside Hitter – Eastview - Mizuno M1 161 Gruman can take a big swing out of the back row and find the corners. She is also very effective from the service line with a deep float in the seams or a deceptively short serve. On defense she takes care of the deep corners, and she is solid in serve-receive, making her a sound six-rotation player. [player_tooltip player_id="148971" first="Sophie" last="Robinson"] – 2024 – 5’11 - Outside Hitter – Chippewa Falls (WI) – Kokoro 16-1s Ok, she isn’t from Minnesota, but her club is, so she’s worth mentioning! Robinson takes a violent swing at blockers’ elbows and knows how to pick away at a team’s defensive weaknesses. She is a solid six-rotation player who is solid in serve-receive and scrappy on defense. Robinson is a big addition to Kokoro and definitely elevates their game. [player_tooltip player_id="107264" first="Stella" last="Swenson"] – 2024 – 6’1 - Setter – Wayzata - MN Select 17-1s Coming from a volleyball family, it’s almost expected that Swenson have a propensity for the sport, but Stella blows expectations away. She moves the ball around extremely well and has an incredibly high volleyball IQ to go with all that athletic ability. Others to Watch!
