Between Saturday and Sunday, teams from three different divisions will be in action across the 26 courts split among nine different venues in the Evergreen State.
Some of the very best players in the entire state will compete this weekend and to help you know where to look at, we’ll highlight a few suggestions of players worth your attention in each position when the ball starts flying this weekend.
This time we’ll list some very promising middle blockers.
Riley Clark – PJVBC 18 National – HS: Lakes – 2022
A dynamic, 5’11” middle blocker, Riley Clark has tremendously improved her game over the course of her high school career. Clark is very explosive on offense and her athleticism and good reading make of her one of the best blockers in the entire state too. Clark produced 362 kills, 273 blocks and 57 aces in her high school career with Lakes.
Beatrice Anitei – SIVBC 17 Storm – HS: Bothell – 2023
Beatrice Anitei is another middle blocker that continues to grow her reputation in the state of Washington. Anitei stands at 6’2” and has an excellent presence at the net. She’s a force on offense and also gets to make a huge impact with her blocking. She is living the best season of her young career after she registered 150 kills and 72 blocks on her way to help her high school team Bothell win the State Championship.
Danielle Brown – DaKine Warriors 16 Surf – HS: Puyallup – 2024
Danielle Brown is one of the most talked-about prospects in the Evergreen as not many players have her combination of size, skill and volleyball IQ. The 6’2” Brown can hit multiple different sets and is also very effective with her blocking. Her most recent high school season with Puyallup was nothing short of spectacular as she produced 261 kills, 32 aces, 136 blocks and 150 digs and made it to the Washington Coaches Association All-state first team.
Katie Slove – Oly Reign 15 Gold – 2025
Katie Slove’s game is still coming together but she has shown good promise during the current club season. Slove stands at 5’10” and has very long arms, a combination that allows her to hit over the top of opposing blockers quite frequently. Her arm swing can and will only get better with time.
