The event will offer a precious opportunity for club teams from around the Evergreen State to qualify for this year’s USAV Girls 18s Junior National Championship, which will take place in Phoenix, Arizona, from April 22-24.
We’ve already highlighted some of the teams that will be competing for the bid this weekend in previous articles in the current club season, so we’ll take the days leading up to the event to feature some others who also deserve our love.
Oly Reign 18 Gold
The team from the Oly Reign Volleyball Club in the Olympia region has some of the top talent in the area. 18 Gold has recently impressed with a fifth-place finish in the Puget Sound Region Power League and has amassed 18 wins and ten losses so far in the season.

Players to Watch
Langley Griffin – Outside Hitter – HS: Peninsula – 2023
A six-foot outside hitter with a fantastic ability to score points, Langley Griffin brings a lot of firepower to Oly Reign 18 Gold at the pin. Griffin is both explosive and very technical, a combination that allows her to change her offensive rhythm during matches and keep opponents guessing. Griffin also plays beach volleyball and, also because of that, has an excellent all-around game, which was in full display during the last high school season, when she produced 214 kills, 185 digs, 221 passes, 67 aces and 27 blocks for Peninsula.
Bella Grant – Middle Blocker – HS: Olympia – 2023
Another class of 2023 player to play a big role for Oly Reign 18 Gold, Bella Grant adds a lot of athleticism and a solid presence in the middle for this team. She stands at 5’10” but can jump well and does a great job in fully stretching her right arm when hitting, becoming very difficult to stop at the net. Her blocking might be even better, though, as she led her high school team Olympia during the last season with 62 stuffs.
Kate Johnson – Right Sider – HS: Olympia – 2022
A right sider who’s described as a lefty, tall and strong point-scorer would always cause excitement and Kate Johnson is no exception. The six-footer fulfills her role with Oly Reign 18 Gold admirably, providing a reliable option on the right in big moments of the matches. Johnson is tall and strong, as mentioned, but also has a very diversified offense and an interesting ability to tool opposing blocks. She registered 233 kills and 33 blocks with Olympia in the last high school season.
