2022 Volleyball Draft Introduction
It's draft time once again!
In 2020, Prep Dig Michigan held its first Volleyball Draft, putting together a crop of eight teams of 10 different players on each squad.
The rosters were comprised of any juniors, sophomores and freshmen at the time in the state of Michigan.
Last year, we put together another draft and expanded it to 10 teams.
Well, draft week will be upon us next week, with coverage each day.
This time around, we are sticking with the 10 teams and including the player pools of any Michigan prospect from the Class of 2023, 2024 and 2025.
In case you forgot, here is what the format looks like.
2022 Volleyball Draft Format
Teams: Eagles, Bulldogs, Tigers, Warriors, Lions, Wildcats, Cougars, Falcons, Bears and Broncos.
Format: Snake Draft (1st pick in Round 1 has last pick in Round 2, etc.)
Rosters: 10 players per team. Each team will have at least 1 setter, 3 outside hitters/OPP, 2 middles and 2 liberos/defensive specialists.
Player Pool: Each draftee will be a member of either the Class of 2023, 2024 or 2025 in the state of Michigan.
GM's: Me, Myself and I. So, if you have an issue with it, send your complaints my way.
2022 Volleyball Draft Week Schedule
2022 Draft Big Board: Monday, May 16
First Round: Tuesday, May 17
Second & Third Rounds: Wednesday, May 18
Rounds Four-Six: Thursday, May 19
Rounds Seven-Ten: Friday, May 20
Following the draft, we will have five matchups pitting two teams against one another in a Twitter poll.
The five winners, along with the losing team to get the most votes, advanced to the second round.
The semifinals will be a pair of three-way polls. The winners of each poll will then be put head-to-head in our championship matchup.
