Continue ReadingWe have been watching the 2024 class very closely throughout the entire club season. A lot of the analysis has come from watching these players in person this season. We have also been watching the amazing footage that has been uploaded to everyone’s recruiting profiles in order to determine placement. We have been talking to a lot of coaches across the country and this class is littered with college prospects. The following players showed us all that they deserved to be moved up the rankings due to their individual performances.
Sameena Burns Sameena Burns 6'2" | MB Seven Lakes | 2024 State TX [2024] 6-2 Middle (HS: Seven Lakes/Club: Houston Skyline/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Sameena has moved up the rankings in this update. She went from being ranked as the 39th best overall prospect to the 29th best overall prospect in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She is a stud in the middle for Houston Skyline and Seven Lakes High School. We have profiled her a few times in the past couple of years and here is a little from a previous article, “Sameena has a lot of length in her extremities and poses a huge threat to opposing hitters with her reach. I see a lot of potential in her offensively as she has a high touch point and a whip of an arm swing that can hit ten foot line when need be. She drives her legs well toward the setter for quick attacks and we know she will progress to running the full route tree of a middle soon. Her high school team Seven Lakes won the UIL 6A State Championship in 2020 and graduates some key players, but with Miss Burns getting a little taste of varsity this past year, they will be right back in the fold for the future.” I watched her this past club season a few times and she has shown so much progress. She is stronger and faster since the last time I watched her in person. We think she has a ton of potential and are glad to have moved her up in this update. Please help us congratulate her on moving up the state rankings. I will be covering her at nationals this summer and will have more on her play.
Bethanie Wu Bethanie Wu 5'10" | S Lovejoy | 2024 State TX [2024] 5-10 Setter (HS: Lovejoy/Club: Texas Advantage Volleyball/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Bethanie has moved up the rankings in this latest update. She went from being ranked as the 46th overall prospect to now being listed as the 39th best overall prospect overall in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays high school volleyball at the three-time State Champion Lovejoy High School and also club for the famed Texas Advantage Volleyball program. I have written about her multiple times since we met her a while back and here is a refresher of the latest article, “I got the chance to meet this young lady at our Top 250 Expo in December and it was a total pleasure. So many stars surround her on her club team. They are big and powerful and play with so much emotion. The only problem with this is they have highs and lows. When I watched Bethanie play this past weekend, I was in awe of how composed she stayed during some very tense moments when her team was tested. Miss Wu passed the test with flying colors as she never lets those big moments scare her level of play. She is able to run a very high octane offense while remaining as calm as can be.” I was able to watch her a few times this season and Bethany was as steady as they come. She is super consistent with her mental state and also her technical skills. I love watching her play and if you have a chance, you need to give her a look. I will be covering her team at nationals and will have more on her individual play. Please congratulate her on moving up the rankings.
Peyton Fadal Peyton Fadal 5'9" | S Barbers Hill | 2024 State TX [2024] 5-10 Setter/Right Side (HS: Barbers Hill/Club: Xcel/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Peyton has moved up the State Rankings in this update. She went from being ranked as the 80th best overall prospect to now listed as the 44th best overall and 9th best setter in the class of 2024. She plays for Barbers Hill High School and also club for Xcel. We have profiled her a few times now and here is a refresher over what we previously stated, “She is a huge reason why Barbers Hill will stay dominant in their district as they have over the last couple of decades. This young lady can truly do it all on the court for both her high school and club team. I love how she is able to track the ball off of the passers arms so quick and then use very quick footwork to beat the ball and still deliver a great ball to her hitters. This jump setting phenom is one to watch as her location is pin point accurate with every set whether it is in-system or out of system. The ball seems to float out of her hands so smoothly. If any college coaches are needing a silky smooth quarterback, they should look no further as this young lady is the real deal. We are going to have a lot of fun watching her career unfold.” Her individual performance this past club season proved that she was one of the best setters in the state of Texas. I love watching her in person and was able to catch her in Dallas at the Lone Star National Qualifier. She was smooth with the ball and distributed it perfectly amongst all of her hitters. I love her natural athleticism in the position. It truly stands out. Please help us congratulate her on moving up the rankings.
