Wu will be leading the powerful offense of Drive Nation 18 Red in the 18 Open division. One of the best setters in the state, she has some very interesting hitters to work with and knows exactly how to make the most of each of them, running a very effective offense that keeps everyone involved. Wu is extremely technical and agile, but what sets her apart from other setters is her strong mental game. She’s always extremely focused on what’s happening on the court, can see plays before everyone else and remains calm no matter what. Wu is also productive on the backcourt, getting tough serves across the net and playing very good defense.

Wu will be trying to secure her third state title in four years of high school volleyball with Lovejoy, one of the most successful programs in Texas in the last decade. Her consistency and reliability at setter is a huge asset for the Leopards, who have for years had one of the best offenses in the state. Wu is very accurate with her locations and also makes great decisions with her ball distribution. The setter is an excellent-around player and also brings strong defense and tough serving to the court. This season has been one of the most productive ones for Wu, who has 1,252 assists, 304 digs and 43 aces.

The talented Wu has earned quite a reputation by playing excellent volleyball with her club team TAV but hasn’t had such a prominent role with Lovejoy as she competed for playing time with two of the team’s main stars in Averi Carlson and Rosemary Archer. With the two now graduated, it will be the 5’10” Wu running the show for the team this year with her usual pace and calm on the ball.
