Blazing Beginnings

Today we take a look at some players off to a blazing start in this 2022 season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='515024' first='Shelby' last='Davidson'] - 2024- OH - Minneapolis</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Minneapolis may be off to a 4-3 start but not due to the efforts of Davidson. The junior pin is terminating at a rate of 5.8 kills per set. She is on pace to blow out the numbers she put forth a year ago. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Hallee White - 2023 - OH - Baxter Springs</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In her final go at it, White is off to a fast start averaging 5.5 kills per set. Her team is 4-4 this fall. Look for her hitting percentage to continue to go up as the season progresses. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='173375' first='Addison' last='Budke'] - 2025 - OH - Beloit</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 6'1" sophomore is doing her thing thru the first two weeks of the season. She is hitting at close to a .400 clip to go with her 5.2 kills per set for the 8-1 Trojans.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Kelsi Ko - 2024- S - Pleasant Ridge</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ko has transitioned into the setter role with great success this fall for Pleasant Ridge. Ko has set them to a 9-1 start leading the state with 10.8 assists per set. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='122212' first='Jordan' last='Peck'] -2023- S - Minneapolis</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With Davidson off to a hot start, no surprise to see her setter on the list. The 5'8" senior is averaging over 10 assists per set. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Abbey LeForte - 2023 - S - Royal Valley</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>10.6 assists per set is the number LeForte is doing to start her final season in Royal Valley. Her team is off to a blazing 14-1 start behind her consistency and ball placement. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Jaylee Jefferson - 2023 - S - Andover Central</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The final setter coming in with over 10 per in the assists category is Jefferson, the Andover Central senior. After splitting time a year ago, she has taken command of this offense and has them off to a 9-1 start. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='495598' first='Jailyn' last='Adolph'] - 2024 - L - Cheney</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Cheney junior is turning heads this fall for the 5-1 Cardinals. Her defense has been stellar evidenced by her 6. 7 digs per set. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='150068' first='Ryan' last='McAleer'] - 2024 - L - Blue Valley</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Blue Valley has turned some heads early this year with a 7-0 start. The libero jersey has been in good hands with the Purdue-bound McAleer. To start her junior year, she is averaging 6.4 digs per set. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Abby Koontz - 2024 - L - Newton</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We see the junior class is deep with defenders as Koontz in the third of this bunch averaging over 6 digs per set early this year. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
