Budke is another big-time hitter who owns a physical game. She has committed to play for the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers after gradution. UNK is getting a steal with this signing. Budke is a Division I talent who will be playing for a Division II program. Beloit is a program that has been very supportive of Prep Dig and is a winning program that’s a treat to watch. I still can’t believe that Budke and the Trojans did not win a state title either of the past two years. She has a bright future and the skills to lead the Lopers to a MIAA title run.

Budke is a dominant hitter that I have seen multiple times this season. She passed the 2,000-kill milestone this season. She reached 2,000 kills on September 21 and since then, has added another 140 kills to her stat sheet. I saw Beloit and Budke play last weekend in Concordia and they improved their record to 28-4 with a second-place finish in the tournament. Budke has verbally committed to play for Nebraska-Kearney after high school. It’s “State Title Or Bust” for the Trojans in 2024. That’s a lofty goal for any team, but I know that’s Beloit’s goa after they came up short a year ago.

Sophie continues to show up and support her team. This game was not the team’s best and they didn’t win, but Sophie’s determination to continue to go after the balls and support her team is amazing. She is not afraid to hit the floor for balls with 16 digs for 3 sets.
