We are, as usual, centering our coverage around promoting the most intriguing prospects around the state with articles that will highlight their standout performances and statistical milestones and also team features.
As much as possible, we’ll also try to every Tuesday and Friday preview an interesting match that’s set to happen around the state, pointing out the most impressive prospects that will be on the court in that encounter. For Tuesday, October 25, we recommend you keep an eye on the duel between the Hays Hawks (25-18) and the Cedar Park Timberwolves (25-17), set to start at 6.30 PM in the southern Austin region.
Both teams have already secured playoff spots in Conference 5A – District 25 and Hays (9-4) will be looking to take third place from the Timberwolves (10-3), who could still finish in second place if they win. The round one encounter between the teams, less than a month ago, had a three-set victory from Hays.

Madison Disu
Disu plays a key role for Hays alongside her twin sister Megan. An outside hitter with tremendous firepower, she uses her physical tools extremely well at the net and is a capable point-scorer from any position on the court. A University of Rhode Island commit, Madison has played middle in the past and can hits some really quick sets from the right. She’s the Hawks’ top scorer in the season with 334 kills and also leads the team in aces (68) and ranks third in digs (186) and passes (330).
A long and athletic middle, Langi makes a big impact at the net with her two-way game. A Utah Tech commit, she’s very productive on offense and also adds a lot in terms of blocking with her length and reading of the game. The middle has been the team’s second most-used offensive option, tallying 259 kills up to this point, and by far its best blocker, with an impressive 142 stuffs.
Highlights
Hays’ efficient and reliable libero has been one of the team’s standouts this season. Very technical and intelligent, the 5’5″ Briceno provides the stability the team needs to succeed on offense while also setting well when she’s asked to. The libero ranks first for the team in digs (386) and passes (506) and fourth in aces (24).

Joy Udoye
The freshman outside hitter set the Timberwolves on fire with her tremendous offensive potential in her first year with the team. Udoye immediately became Cedar Park’s go-to scoring option and has also been able to help the team in other areas of the game. She leads the team in kills (449), ranks second in passes (464) and third in blocks (30) and digs (249).
The highest-ranked libero in her class in our Prep Dig State Rankings, Krueger has been a stud for the Timberwolves this season. Her steady and efficient play has often made a difference for the team as her ability to make plays on the backcourt is rarely matched by their opponents. Krueger leads the team in digs (428), passes (503) and aces (44), besides ranking second in assists (131).
Cedar Park’s talented setter is having a stellar senior season, leading the team’s young core in a fantastic way. Her ball distribution has been excellent as four of her starting hitters have more than 150 kills already in the season and her total output of 1,066 is on pace to become a career-high. Gilkey has also been very active on defense, producing the team’s second-best mark of 330 digs, and from the service line, with 33 aces.
