Continue ReadingThe high school season is entering a key moment in the state of Texas and every team in the state has been on the court more than enough times for us to have a good idea about what to expect from them.
Here at PrepDig, we are committed to covering and promoting as many prospects as possible, from the most popular names to the hidden gems that typically abound at the Lone Star State and during the high school season we’re also doing it by featuring the teams they play at.
Every time we’re at the gym, we take the time to give a good look at the teams on the court and we’ll try to feature as many as possible here in this space. Today we’re going to know more about the Langham Creek Lobos.
The Squad
The Lobos managed to bring back all of their key players from last season and continue to get better as a team, strongly remaining among the top teams in Conference 6A – District 16. There’s a lot of talent in Langham Creek’s squad, especially with Jordan Taylor Jordan Taylor 6'5" | MB Langham Creek | 2025 State #46 Nation TX , Kennedy Jones Kennedy Jones 5'10" | OH Langham Creek | 2024 State TX and Taylor Williams.
Key Players
The towering middle blocker is one of the fastest-rising prospects in the state and it’s been really fun to watch the very tall player with good instincts she was last season become a truly dominant middle. Her impressive 6’5″ frame obviously helps, but it’s very easy to see how much work Taylor has been putting on to get better and it’s reflecting on her ability to hit different sets at a very high level and a more cerebral blocking approach. She’s really difficult to play against because of her amazing reach and growing understanding of the game.
Jones has been a force at the pin for a couple of years now. She’s a nightmare for opposing blockers because of her unparalleled vertical and hangtime and, although very powerful, has been recently adding more finesse to her offense, scoring in tips and rolls shots when these are the best options. Jones also made a huge leap in her backcourt game and is now a very consistent passer and an active defender.

Taylor Williams
Taylor Williams
Is Jones is (almost) all about power, with Williams it’s her creativity and craftiness that make a difference. The 5’8″ outside hitter is extremely technical and resourceful and that trait shows strongly in everything she does on the court. At the net, she’ll do what it takes to score a point, be it hitting the ball hard, tooling the block or simply tipping it into an open spot. Her reactions on defense are truly impressive and often lead her to make spectacular digs.
Langham Creek’s main setter, Rios is a very technical player and does a great job running the team’s offense. Her ball distribution is typically very intelligent and she also does very well at turning bad passes into hittable sets. Rios is a very aggressive player, who frequently uses her setter dumps and serves a tough floater. She can play good defense and is particularly good in overhead digs.
Highlights
Langham Creek’s starting libero, Spell impresses with her outstanding ball control. She can always send the ball exactly where she wants and that’s such a valuable asset for the Lobos. Spell’s positioning is also very good and that makes her touch a lot of balls on defense – and control most of them. She seems to always be very calm and focused on the court and also helps the team with her serving.
