Where Are The Super Setters At? Sophomore Edition

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Continuing our Super Setter Series, this time with sophomores. There are so many good setters around the state, and it is hard to narrow down this list. We have 6 setters below who stand out from the crowd. Be sure to take a look!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3>[player_tooltip player_id='186765' first='Brianna' last='Dunn'] - Clear Falls</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bri Dunn is playing some very good volleyball for Clear Falls. She is an aggressive pin hitter but also doubles as a setter for Falls. She is running the offense for Falls, setting 6 rotations and she has still managed to get 42 kills on the season. She is about to surpass 800 assists as a sophomore. She isn't the tallest setter around, but she is very athletic and makes the most out of her verticle. She is putting up major numbers in district games. Recently she just had 41 assists against Dickenson. We know Bri Dunn is an elite pin hitter, and now she is joining in the elite setters division.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3>[player_tooltip player_id='179900' first='Isabella' last='Orton'] - Hutto </h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='179900' first='Isabella' last='Orton'] has improved so much over the last year. Her playing time for Hutto is attributed to that, playing 6 rotations is no easy feat. Isabella has such a smooth release on the ball, and can use her hands anywhere on the court. She is approaching 1,000 career assists as a sophomore. She has strong hands and good footwork, and her speed has greatly improved since she started playing varsity. Her 5'11 frame makes her a threat at the net as well, and you will often see her attacking the ball.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3>[player_tooltip player_id='212741' first='Isabella' last='De La Rosa'] - Harlan</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='212741' first='Isabella' last='De La Rosa'] is running the offense for Harlan volleyball. The sophomore setter is leading the team in assists and for good reason. If you have ever watched her play, the first thing you will notice is her footwork to the ball. This allows her to jump set almost any pass, and keep her hitters in rhythm. She first got on our radar after attending a Prep Dig Showcase over the summer. Isabella plays for [program_tooltip program_id='431254' first='San' last='Antonio Juniors'] and has a bright future ahead of her.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3>[player_tooltip player_id='180164' first='Addyson' last='Franz'] - Keller</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='180164' first='Addyson' last='Franz'] is a setter out of Keller, Texas. She has gotten some setting opportunities this year with Keller, behind senior Taylor Povlika. Don't let this fool you, because Addyson can play with the best of them. She plays for Drive Nation 16 Red and is a setting stud. She has a very good distribution of the ball, a high volleyball IQ, and a very good setter dump. At almost 6'0, her size makes her a formidable opponent. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3>[player_tooltip player_id='212733' first='Kaia' last='Thiele'] - Cornerstone</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='212733' first='Kaia' last='Thiele'] plays for Alamo Volleyball and Cornerstone Christian. She is a very intense athlete who brings a lot to the table. She has a gritty, play-maker attitude about herself, and great setting hands to pair with those things. She has a lot of setting range for a sophomore. She has had a great season setting for Cornerstone, playing behind one of the best. She also doesn't make a lot of errors, with only 15 total ball-handling errors on the season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3>[player_tooltip player_id='179904' first='Kenedy' last='Massie'] - Manvel</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Kennedy Massie was a part of the State Championship appearance team from Manvel last season. She had a stud freshman season and is doing the same thing again in 2022. Kennedy is a great blocker as well as a setter. She has shared some setting duties this year but still has over 800 assists on the season. She is poised under pressure and seems to always be in control of her offense.
