The Crescent Valley Raiders controlled the match and swept the Bend Lava Bears in three (25-20, 25-22, 27-11).
To recap the match, we will be identifying and highlighting players from each team that were impact players for the team. Although the Raiders came out on top, the Lava Bears also had some athletes with great performances in the match.
CRESCENT VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL
Highlights
Bentley has been a beast of a middle blocker this season for the Crescent Valley Raiders. During the State finals, she was able to contribute to the teams success mightly. For the Raiders, Bentley garnered 18 swings (the 3rd most from the Raiders) with 7 kills and 4 errors, hitting a .167, had 12 service attempts with 3 service aces and 3 service errors, and had 6 digs. Her blocking is what really set her apart during the match as she accumulated an impressive 6 blocks across 3-sets, shutting down Lava Bear attackers.
Jacobson has been a steady force for the Crescent Valley Raiders this season but had a breakout match during the State finals. All around, in every facet of the game, Jacobson could not be stopped. Receiving the most sets by almost double, the sophomore had 43 swings, 16 kills, and a mere 2 errors, hitting a .326. She also had 10 digs and was perfect on serve receive, with 13 receptions and no errors. She was reliable from the service line with 8 serves and an error. It is clear from this showing why Jacobson would also be honored with Moda Health Player of the Match.
Highlights
Mitchell has been a major component to the Crescent Valley Raiders success this season. Rarely seen off the court, she typically ran a 6-2, staying in to attack on the right side. The State finals were no different for Mitchell, running the offense and racking up kills across the three sets. For the Raiders, the sophomore standout posted 29 assists, 4 kills on 8 swings with 0 errors, hitting a .500, had 6 digs, 8 service attempts and one error, and 2 blocks.
Highlights
Street has been a rock for the Crescent Valley Raider’s back row this entire season. During the State finals, Street did what she does best and was critical in the team winning it all. She brings steady ball control to the court, with consistent serve receive and a knack for defense. In the finals, Street amassed an impressive 22 digs and had 12 serve receive receptions with only 2 errors, passing a .857. She also had 5 assists and proved unstoppable from the service line with 6 service aces on 20 attempts with only one error.
BEND HIGH SCHOOL
Clark has been tasked with running the offense for the Bend Lava Bears as their primary setter. Although Clothier gets into the rotation from time to time, all eyes were on Clark during the State finals. The senior setter, a sand player committed to play for the Chattanooga beach team, is a smart player and sees the court well. For the Lava Bears, she racked up 25 assists, had 8 digs, 2 kills, and 7 service attempts with a service ace and only one error.
Leluge has been an offensive weapon for the Bend Lava Bears throughout the season, whether attacking from the middle or the pins, she has been hard to stop. During the State finals, she shouldered a major offensive load. Leluge took 44 swings had 12 kills and only 4 errors, hitting a .182. However, her attacking was not her only contribution, she also had 4 digs, 11 serve receive receptions with only 3 errors, had 6 service attempts, and posted 2 blocks. Her standout play during the finals got her the nod of Moda Health Player of the Match.

Natalie Reveles
Reveles has been leading the backrow for the Bend Lava Bears all season long and the State finals were no different. The senior libero brought some solid ball control to the court. Playing calm and collected, she did an exceptional job keeping the Lava Bears in the match. Reveles posted 15 digs and had 16 serve receive receptions with only 3 errors. Her serve proved tough to stop with 16 attempts, 1 ace and 1 error, it did not garner as many aces as it did disruptions for the Raiders.
