The University Interscholastic League's (UIL) playoffs began on Monday and high school volleyball teams from all over the state of Texas are battling for survival during the bi-district round, the first stage of the postseason.

The next weeks will be filled with exciting matches in every corner of the Lone Star State and our Prep Dig Texas team will try and cover as many as possible to keep you up-to-date on everything that's going on in the most important moment of the season.

We'll also try to, as much as possible, daily present some of the most exciting matchups and starting today, will feature one playoff match in each of the four regions of the state of Texas.

Region 1: Byron Nelson vs. Trinity - VR Eaton HS - 6.30 PM

The Byron Nelson Bobcats (36-5) had a really strong regular season campaign and were second in the strong Conference 6A - District 4, with ten wins and four losses. The Bobcats ended the opening phase in good form, with five victories in their last six maches, and have a powerful scoring trio in senior [player_tooltip player_id='141126' first='Samantha' last='Hoppes'], sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='180462' first='Sydnee' last='Peterson'] and freshman Kylie Kleckner, who have more than 1,200 kills among them.

The Trinity Trojans (27-12) battled to finish third in Conference 6A - District 3 and ended the regular season with three consecutive wins to round up their 9-5 campaign. Their senior trio of Natalie White, [player_tooltip player_id='195829' first='Faiana' last='Halatoa'] and Fabiola Betancourt has been carrying the team on both sides of the ball.

https://x.com/BNHSVBall/status/1585637441175965696?s=20&t=41PZofqHZoKvidTiSArqtw

Region 2: Klein Collins vs. Langham Creek - Waller HS - 6.30 PM

The Klein Collins Tigers (32-12) were able to rank second in the highly-competitive Conference 6A - District 15 with a campaign of ten victories and four losses. The Tigers have talent in basically every area of their squad, with junior setter [player_tooltip player_id='186231' first='Anna' last='Blaine'], junior outside hitter Kristina Cote and senior middle [player_tooltip player_id='178668' first='Ariana' last='Goode'] forming the core of the team.

The Langham Creek Lobos (29-13) were only behind powerhouses Cy Ranch and Bridgeland in Conference 6A - District 16 after they beat every other team in the division twice to have a 10-4 win record. Sophomore middle blocker [player_tooltip player_id='212727' first='Jordan' last='Taylor'] is one of the best in her position in the state while Langham Creek's junior outside hitter duo of [player_tooltip player_id='208197' first='Kennedy' last='Jones'] and [player_tooltip player_id='239063' first='Taylor' last='Williams'] is another force of the team.

https://x.com/CFISDAthletics/status/1585276557999964162?s=20&t=41PZofqHZoKvidTiSArqtw

Region 3: Dawson vs. Brazoswood - Angleton HS - 6.00 PM

The Dawson Eagles (29-13) were a force in Conference 6A - District 23, only falling to division winners Pearland on their way to rank second with a 10-2 win record - they enter the playoffs on the back of three sweeps. The Eagles have a strong middle blocker duo in senior Ava Kennon and sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='208197' first='Kennedy' last='Jones'] and an excellent all-around prospect in senior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='176651' first='Bryce' last='Ranney'].

The Brazoswood Buccaneers (25-16) were ahead of Clear Falls in the tie-breakers and managed to rank third in Conference 6A - District 24 after they won their last three district matches and improved their record to 7-5.
