After three seasons setting for Klein Collins, where she amassed 1,933 assists, Blaine has joined a strong Concordia Lutheran team in Tomball. Her arrival couldn’t have happened at a better time for the Crusaders as they just graduated setter Kody Harman and really needed a new playmaker to lead the team. Blaine led her team Texas Legacy 17 Elite to a fifth-place finish in Houston with another solid display. A very complete setter, she has great chemistry with each of her hitters and that showed during the day as shared the ball well among them and ran some very creative and efficient plays when in system. Blaine is always very calm and clean on the ball and that helps the team remain on a consistent rhythm during matches. She did very well at the net too with 6’1″ frame and played good defense on the backcourt. The setter was also on fire from the service line against Houston Skyline 17 Black.

There were some really good setters in action last weekend at the tournament, but Blaine was the one to shine the brightest with her TX Legacy 17 Elite team. She has always been a very good playmaker, who also has great size to go with her technical tools, but there’s something different about her game now. Blaine seems more confident on the court and that has made of her more of a leader in her team. Her play was excellent, as usual, and helped her team make it to the Gold Division Championship Match.

Tall setters are hard to come by, but size is only one of the several assets Blaine brings to the court. She’s incredibly mobile for a player who stands at 6’1″ and floats around the court really well, easily getting to passes off the net. Her touch on the ball is always very clean and precise and Blaine is also very calm and intelligent, running a somewhat simple, but very efficient offense. She’s extremely consistent and reliable and also impacts the game in a big way with her blocking and setter dumps.

One of the most promising setters in the state, Blaine has stepped up to a key role with Klein Collins this season. Very technical and calm, she does a great job as a playmaker and still has the massive bonus of standing at 6’1″. She’s very mobile on the court and uses her size well to block and score on setter dumps and swings.

A setter with excellent physical and technical tools, the 6’1” Blaine is also the great player she is because of her mental strength. As a setter, she needs to deal with a lot of pressure on the court, but nothing really seems to bother her, who just keeps playing her excellent game regardless of what’s going on. Blaine is also very clean on the ball and distributes it among her hitters really well. She also does an excellent job when it comes to using her size to impact the game at the net, be it with her blocking or setter dumps.
