The next weeks will be filled with exciting matches in every corner of the Lone Star State and our Prep Dig Texas team will try and cover as many as possible to keep you up-to-date on everything that’s going on in the most important moment of the season.
We’ll also try to, as much as possible, daily present some of the most exciting matchups and starting today, will feature one playoff match in each of the four regions of the state of Texas.
Region 1: Byron Nelson vs. Trinity – VR Eaton HS – 6.30 PM
The Byron Nelson Bobcats (36-5) had a really strong regular season campaign and were second in the strong Conference 6A – District 4, with ten wins and four losses. The Bobcats ended the opening phase in good form, with five victories in their last six maches, and have a powerful scoring trio in senior Samantha Hoppes Samantha Hoppes 6'1" | RS Byron Nelson | 2023 State TX , sophomore Sydnee Peterson Sydnee Peterson 5'10" | RS Byron Nelson | 2025 State TX and freshman Kylie Kleckner, who have more than 1,200 kills among them.
The Trinity Trojans (27-12) battled to finish third in Conference 6A – District 3 and ended the regular season with three consecutive wins to round up their 9-5 campaign. Their senior trio of Natalie White, Faiana Halatoa Faiana Halatoa 6'1" | RS Trinity | 2023 State TX and Fabiola Betancourt has been carrying the team on both sides of the ball.
Region 2: Klein Collins vs. Langham Creek – Waller HS – 6.30 PM
The Klein Collins Tigers (32-12) were able to rank second in the highly-competitive Conference 6A – District 15 with a campaign of ten victories and four losses. The Tigers have talent in basically every area of their squad, with junior setter Anna Blaine Anna Blaine 6'1" | S Concordia Lutheran | 2024 State TX , junior outside hitter Kristina Cote and senior middle Ariana Goode Ariana Goode 6'0" | MB Klein Collins | 2023 TX forming the core of the team.
The Langham Creek Lobos (29-13) were only behind powerhouses Cy Ranch and Bridgeland in Conference 6A – District 16 after they beat every other team in the division twice to have a 10-4 win record. Sophomore middle blocker Jordan Taylor Jordan Taylor 6'5" | MB Langham Creek | 2025 State #46 Nation TX is one of the best in her position in the state while Langham Creek’s junior outside hitter duo of Kennedy Jones Kennedy Jones 5'10" | OH Langham Creek | 2024 State TX and Taylor Williams Taylor Williams 5'8" | OH Langham Creek | 2024 State TX is another force of the team.
Region 3: Dawson vs. Brazoswood – Angleton HS – 6.00 PM
The Dawson Eagles (29-13) were a force in Conference 6A – District 23, only falling to division winners Pearland on their way to rank second with a 10-2 win record – they enter the playoffs on the back of three sweeps. The Eagles have a strong middle blocker duo in senior Ava Kennon and sophomore Kennedy Jones Kennedy Jones 5'10" | OH Langham Creek | 2024 State TX and an excellent all-around prospect in senior outside hitter Bryce Ranney Bryce Ranney 5'10" | OH Dawson | 2023 State TX .
The Brazoswood Buccaneers (25-16) were ahead of Clear Falls in the tie-breakers and managed to rank third in Conference 6A – District 24 after they won their last three district matches and improved their record to 7-5. Outside hitters Olivia Stringer (junior) anr Reagan Blank (senior) have been tremendously effective in the offensive system ran by senior setter Olivia Mulholland, who’s well over 1,000 assists for the season.
Region 4: United vs. Brennan – Northside Sports Gym – 6.00 PM
The United Longhorns (35-4) had an excellent regular season as they dominated Conference 6A – District 30 with a perfect campaign of ten wins and enter the postseason in an 11-match winning streak. The team’s senior trio of Mia Molina (middle), Krizia Perez (outside hitter) and Erika Peimbert (setter) has been instrumental to the Longhorns’ success this season.
The Brennan Bears (24-19) survived a competitive Conference 6A – District 29 and benefited from consecutive victories in their last three district matches to complete their schedule with a 9-7 win record and beat Stevens for fourth place and take the last playoff spot. Sophomores Angel Osteguin (outside hitter) and Giana Brown Giana Brown 6'1" | MB Brennan | 2025 State TX (middle) and junior setter Jasmine Dukes have been three key players for the Bears this season.
