Grace Maria Grace Maria 6'2" | OH Bishop O'Connell | 2023 State #150 Nation VA OH (Virginia Juniors to Paramount 18’s) – Grace was the key offensive threat for Biship O’Connell. She came into her own for the 2022 high school season and was voted to the first team Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC). She was also voted first team All State in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA). One of the strengths of her game is her back row play which may create some sparse playing opportunities for defensive specialists.
Lameen Mambu Lameen Mambu 6'0" | OH Chantilly | 2025 State #64 Nation VA OH (Paramount to Metro 17’s) – Metro had to replace the loss of Macari Spears to Texas. They accomplished that with Mambu. She is a 2025 playing up, but she may be perhaps the top hitter in Virginia. Spears and Mambu have different types of game but both are effective. Spears has strength but Mambu has length with a long arm extension that can put balls down. As a sophomore she was voted Concorde player of the year and led Chantilly to the semi-finals of the State championships, where they lost to eventual State champion Alexandria City.
Leni Stanton-Parker Leni Stanton-Parker 6'0" | OH Langley | 2025 State #116 Nation VA MB/OH (Virginia Jrs. to Metro 16’s) – As a sophomore Leni made first team Liberty District. She also made the first team all Regional. For Langley she primarily played middle, but she was also used on the outside. She has the quickness to play outside and back row, though her time has been limited at that position. Leni could provide Metro with some flexibility.
Paula Sigurani Paula Sigurani 5'4" | DS/L Colgan | 2024 State VA DS/L (American to Paramount 17’s) – I first noticed Paula when she was playing for American in the Junior Nationals. While American struggled during the tournament their libero impressed. That libero was Paula. She was voted to the first team as the top libero the last two years while helping Colgan reach the finals of the State championship.
Riley Buddie Riley Buddie 6'1" | OH Langley | 2024 State VA OH (Virginia Elite to Paramount 17’s) – Riley hit mainly right side for Langley, being voted to the second team in the Liberty District. She can also hit left side, her position when playing for Virginia Elite last year. She could be the outside replacement for Mambu. At 6’1″ she has the height to dominate.
Clara Yu Clara Yu 5'10" | S Georgetown Day | 2024 State VA S (Metro to Paramount 17’s) – The third new face added to the Paramount 16 roster from last year. Clara was voted to the first team in the Independent School League (ISL) while setting Georgetown Day to the DC equivalent of their State championship. For Metro 16 she was used mainly as a third setter. For Paramount she may be used in a 6/2 with Paige Ahakuelo Paige Ahakuelo 5'8" | S James Wood | 2024 State VA .
Sadee Gedse Sadee Gedse 5'6" | DS/L Oakton | 2025 State VA DS/L (St. James to Paramount 16’s) – At the start of the season she was a defensive specialist for Oakton. Before the season was over she was the starting libero. When the high school season ended she was voted to the Concord District second team. She may be one of the top liberos in the area.
Teodora Stamenkovic Teodora Stamenkovic 6'2" | MB Bishop O'Connell | 2026 State VA MB/OH (Libero to Paramount 15’s) – She was a middle for Bishop O’Connell, starting as a frosh for one of the top three high schools in the DC area. She has an incredible wrist snap that can put the ball to the floor as hard as any 2026 player. She has the tools to play outside but she still needs to work on the subtleties of the game, i.e. being aware of the block and improving her back row game. Right side is also another option. At 6’1″ she is the tallest player on the roster.
Piper Xeller Piper Xeller 5'11" | RS Herndon | 2026 State VA MB (Virginia Elite to Paramount 15’s) – Piper played middle for Herndon. She has some strength to her game., though as a frosh it appears restricted to blocking. Like most frosh who play for the varsity she did not get much of an opportunity to hit in the middle or play back row, but she is someone to watch. She is viable to hit outside.
Seliz Aktuglu Seliz Aktuglu 5'9" | OH Oakton | 2024 State VA OH (St James to Vienna Elite 17s) – Seliz was voted to the first team in the Concorde District. She will be reuniting with her Oakton outside teammate Jocelyn Shortle Jocelyn Shortle 5'9" | OH Oakton | 2024 State VA . Her 5’9″ height may appear short for an outside, but she has some strong legs that bring a powerful jump to her game. She is a quality six rotation player.
Greta Barvick Greta Barvick 5'10" | S Chelsea Academy | 2024 State VA S/OH (Vienna Elite to Blue Ridge 17’s) – She was a setter for Vienna Elite 17’s last year, playing up. She was an outside hitter for her Chelsea Academy team, making the first team Division II all state team in the VISAA. Blue Ridge has Hannah McCullough Hannah McCullough 5'2" | S James Wood | 2024 State VA on their roster. Hannah set for Division 4 state champion James Wood, but at 5’2″ would not be ideal for a 5/1. If they ran a 6/2 Greta could stay in the front row on the right side as an offensive weapon.
