Club Breakdown: Michigan Elite 17 Mizuno

Prep Dig has you covered on who's who and what names you need to keep on your radar. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Let's take a look at rebound 17 Mizuno team from Michigan Elite. Despite this, I would not count 17 Mizuno out. While the returning core is rather small, Michigan Elite brings on a lot of promising talent to steer the tide. With top coaches like <strong>Kristin Eddy</strong> and <strong>Lauryn Gibbs</strong>, this team will be one to watch for sure.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"align":"right","id":259339,"width":160,"height":205,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2022/12/4-Hailey-Green.jpg?w=803" alt="" class="wp-image-259339" width="160" height="205" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">[player_tooltip player_id='110301' first='Hailey' last='Green']</figcaption></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4>Returners</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Looking at the returning core in question are OH [player_tooltip player_id='153663' first='Allison' last='Pilat'], OH [player_tooltip player_id='110286' first='Angie' last='Butler'], OPP [player_tooltip player_id='153664' first='Jacquelyn' last='“Jackie” Scheiber'], L [player_tooltip player_id='110301' first='Hailey' last='Green'] and S [player_tooltip player_id='110335' first='Avery' last='Woodard']. With the injury riddled season in 2022, Pilat saw a majority of her time slotted in the middle, although a stellar pin attacker. Pilat will join Butler on the left pin this season, the two can both terminate at a high level while holding their own in the back court. Scheiber will look to fill in on the right pin full time after running the offense last season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Green is the returning libero, coming off of a huge fall with North Branch, and earning Division 2 Player of the Year honors. Rounding out the returning crew, Woodard returns to the squad after sustaining an ACL tear early last club season. I caught a glimpse of Woodard at the Michigan Top 250 and was impressed! She's looking very strong and will surely be a power player for 17 Mizuno.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4>New Kids on the Block</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:image {"align":"right","id":264880,"width":207,"height":167,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2022/12/145-Sydney-Ryan.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-264880" width="207" height="167" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">[player_tooltip player_id='261212' first='Sydney' last='Ryan']</figcaption></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Alongside Green, coming from the powerhouse of North Branch Volleyball is MB [player_tooltip player_id='110287' first='Kaela' last='Chingwa'] (Central Michigan) and S [player_tooltip player_id='110302' first='Adrienne' last='Greschaw']. Chingwa joins 17 Mizuno after an impressive Fall. One of the top blockers in the state and a developing offensive range, Chingwa is already committed to Central Michigan with no top club experience. Greschaw was a reinforcement from last club season that was a saving grace for this team, given all of the injuries. As a full-time player now, Greschaw's championship experience will translate very well for the team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rounding out this team includes the likes of MB [player_tooltip player_id='110328' first='Johanna' last='Tillman'], OPP [player_tooltip player_id='261212' first='Sydney' last='Ryan'] and L [player_tooltip player_id='153673' first='Ella' last='Jensen']. Tillman is a top tier middle blocker coming over to Elite after a few seasons with Legacy. Ryan comes to Elite after spending last season at Unified. The two combining for a 6'2, 6'3 wall will be imposing, to say the least. Joining Green in the back court will be [player_tooltip player_id='153673' first='Ella' last='Jensen'], an in-house pick up from 16 Elite.
