Dallas Top 250 Expo – Top Performers Vol 4

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We were super excited to run our Top 250 Expo in Carrollton, TX on December 3^rd.&nbsp; We had 177 of some of the best players in Texas, Oklahoma and even a few players from Arkansas.&nbsp; Many players stood out to our court coaches and scouts throughout the entire showcase for a variety of reasons.&nbsp; Some players stood out for their dynamic physical skills and some stood out for intangibles like leadership, effort and attitude.&nbsp; Let's meet a few of the players who earned the moniker of Top Performer at the Dallas Expo.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Evelyn “Macie” Potter [2026] 5-11 Right Side (HS: Mckinney/Club: Excel/Verbal: Uncommitted)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"align":"right","id":259792,"width":213,"height":206,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2022/12/38-Evelyn-Macie-Potter.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-259792" width="213" height="206" /></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Miss Potter is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because we have not released them yet.&nbsp; She is a solid right side who plays at McKinney High School and also plays club for Excel.&nbsp; Macie is one of those rare players who just know how to score.&nbsp; She showed no fear in being one of the younger players on a top older court.&nbsp; While a lot of younger players would have had some trouble flexing their muscles, Miss Potter unloaded a few bombs, which wowed the court coaches that were training her.&nbsp; We all took notice once we saw just how fearless she was.&nbsp; She powered through the defense and did a great job tooling a few blocks to score also.&nbsp; I loved how she used great hand contact to move the ball around the block also.&nbsp; This aspect alone will keep her relevant in the top prospects list for the foreseeable future because it helps her stay efficient with scoring.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='181962' first='Emma' last='Scott'] [2024] 6-0 Middle (HS: Blum/Club: NRG/Verbal: Uncommitted)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"align":"left","id":259906,"width":216,"height":213,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image alignleft size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2022/12/169-Emma-Scott.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-259906" width="216" height="213" /></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Emma is currently an unranked prospect in the 2024 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but is on our watch list with what I saw at the Expo.&nbsp; She plays at Blum High School and also for the NRG club volleyball program.&nbsp; &nbsp;I was very intrigued to have Emma on our courts with seeing how valuable she was in her high school's recent State Championship run in the UIL playoffs.&nbsp; Very rarely do we see a middle who can block and score at a high clip, but that is exactly who Miss Scott is and what she showed at the Expo.&nbsp; What I noticed the most was her ability to cut the ball to both corners so well.&nbsp; She routinely showed the ability to hit the 13 foot and closer mark toward both sidelines.&nbsp; It will be very difficult for any defense to be ready for that kind of cut shot on a quick tempo out of the middle.&nbsp; She is fast and furious in her ability to patrol the net laterally also.&nbsp; Keep this name on your short list of recruits to watch.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='253974' first='Annelise' last='Castillo']&nbsp;[2023] 5-0 Libero (HS: Southwest/Club: South Texas Volleyball Academy/Verbal: Uncommitted)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"align":"right","id":259912,"width":219,"height":208,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2022/12/206-Annelise-Castillo.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-259912" width="219" height="208" /></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Annelise is currently an unranked prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.&nbsp; She plays at Southwest High School and also for the South Texas Volleyball Academy club program.&nbsp;&nbsp; Miss Castillo stands out immediately when you see her because of her height, but what keeps you watching is just how special she is covering the court.&nbsp; What I love is that she can transition between a “read” position in middle back and a rotational defensive position for a pin attacker.&nbsp; Her speed is unmatched when maneuvering through the court for both defense and pursuing a deflection or a chased ball to a corner.&nbsp; I know we talk about liberos being quick a lot, but Annelise could challenge them all with foot speed.&nbsp; I would love to watch her go through speed and agility drills with some of the best in the country because I believe she could rival them with what I saw in person.&nbsp; When you watch her play, take a look at her tracking and court vision as it is top notch.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There are many more amazing players that will be written about.&nbsp;
