Rockwall

Rockwall saved its best for the biggest night of the regular season. With the District 10-6A lead on the line, the Yellowjackets swept North Forney in front of their home crowd and grabbed control of the race. The opening set was a heavyweight fight that Rockwall finally took 29-27 and the Yellowjackets pulled away from there. That win completed a season sweep of the Falcons after Rockwall rallied from two sets down to win the first meeting in five. Zailey High has become the go to arm for this group as she has become the all time leader in kills in school history this season. She hammered 14 kills with five aces on Tuesday after posting 19 kills in the September comeback. High attacks with a quick arm and a fearless approach and she is just as dangerous at the service line. [player_tooltip player_id='787206' first='Aisley' last='Bradford'] and Harper Barnett share the setting duties and Bradford dropped seven aces of her own against North Forney. Libero [player_tooltip player_id='950595' first='Presley' last='St. Clair'] anchors the back row and dug 28 balls in the first meeting. This program has made district titles a habit and it looks ready to carry that toughness into November. They are going to be a force to be reckoned with during their title chase.

North Forney

North Forney did not get the ending it wanted on Tuesday, but this team is built to make noise in the playoffs. The Falcons are 30-13 and sit among the top 25 teams in Texas in the many publications' rankings. [player_tooltip player_id='534389' first='Braelyn' last='Patton'] and her arm is the reason opponents lose sleep. She has 439 kills at 4.2 per set and 99 blocks, which makes her one of the most complete pins in North Texas. Patton swings with real power and closes the block like a middle, so she impacts both sides of the net on every rotation. North Texas commit [player_tooltip player_id='512953' first='Trynity' last='Alsaid'] runs the offense and has already passed 1,000 assists this season. Alsaid had 42 assists in the five set battle with Rockwall in September. Kam'Ryie Birkett gives North Forney a second shot blocker in the middle with 80 blocks. Jayse Johnson and [player_tooltip player_id='918563' first='Brielle' last='Norris'] have each piled up more than 370 digs to keep the Falcons in long rallies. A team that has already pushed Rockwall to five sets will not be an easy out for anyone. Anyone who knows sports knows that a tough loss like that can light a huge fire in the team for a big playoff push.
