We can’t wait to have some of the top prospects from the area with us at the gym and will use the days leading up to the event to present some of the most talented players who will be on the court on Saturday. These are some of the setters with the potential to steal the show at the event.
Durgens is fresh from leading her high school team Clear Springs to an excellent campaign and just moved to the Houston Skyline club, where she’s also working with a very talented group of hitters. She’s a very technical setter, who’s excellent in-system but also very good when she has to deal with passes off the net. Durgens is very precise and calm on the ball and often makes the best decisions when it comes to her distribution. She’s solid at the net too and can play excellent defense.

Kliafas spent the last few years developing her reputation as one of the top liberos in the Houston area, but moved to setter during the last high school season and proved she can be great at the position too. Her high volleyball IQ facilitated her adjustment to the new position and Kliafas stood out for running a fast-paced offense that made the most of her hitters at Cy Ranch. She’s also got great size and is obvioulsy an extraordinary defender.

Smith started the high school season dealing with an injury but immediately got back to her great form, taking up setting and hitting duties with Klein. Her versatility is probably one of the highlights of her game and Smith is only capable of doing everything she does at a very high level because she’s very technical and intelligent. Besides setting with great precision and being efficient on offense, she is also a very good defender.
Dworaczyk was one of the most exciting setters to emerge in the Houston area during the last high school season. In her first year with Magnolia West, she immediately slid into the team’s starting lineup and had huge contributions, producing numerous assists, kills and digs. Dworaczyk is extremely well-rounded and understands the game really well, two skills that make of her a very interesting player.

Medford was a key piece in her Conroe team that broke all sorts of school records during the last high school season. A consistent and reliable playmaker, she does an excellent job of putting her hitters in a great position to score over and over again. Medford has great strength in her lower body and that helps with moving to the ball and sending it across the court with good accuracy. She tallied more than 700 assists this past high school season.
