Entering her season with the Bearkats, Smith is expected to be even more important to the team, contributing with her strong play and leadership. She was sidelined for most of last season, but was able to make an impact when she was on the court and also displayed a high level of play during the last club season. A very technical player, Smith will likely spli the team’s setting duties with fellow senior Kenzie Frazier, but she can also help the team offensively, turning into a right side hitter when she’s at the net.

Smith started the high school season dealing with an injury but immediately got back to her great form, taking up setting and hitting duties with Klein. Her versatility is probably one of the highlights of her game and Smith is only capable of doing everything she does at a very high level because she’s very technical and intelligent. Besides setting with great precision and being efficient on offense, she is also a very good defender.

Smith started the season sidelined because of an injury, but will offer a lot to the team when she’s able to get on the court. She produced north of 1,300 assists last season, but is a very versatile and well-rounded setter, who gets to help her team in different areas of the game. Her intelligent ball distribution and great understanding of the game will be extremely important as the team rebuilds its offensive system.

With the departures of middle blocker Kierstyn McFall and outside hitter Ariana Brown Ariana Brown 5'11" | OH Conroe | 2023 State TX , the Bearkats will rely even more on the intelligent distribution of their talented setter, who tallied impressive 1,359 assists, 240 digs, 91 kills and 56 aces last season alone. The 5’9” Smith was used in a variety of roles during the club season and just keeps getting better in every area of her game.
